Been using that exact Werner model for several years - its a must for SUV`s and everyone around here has at least one SUV..

The only thing I did differently is when I am using it, to tape a towel to the edge that faces the paint so I dont accidently get it too close to it and scratch it.

Perhaps one of you engineering types can design a snap-on, snap-off cover for the edge that is used when detailing only ??? I will buy if if you supply it!!

Then I picked up one of these on Black Friday at Lowe`s for like ~$30.

They are a great tool to add to your collection. I use mine for washing and polishing.

The grip tape is a good idea as the OP mentioned.

I am glad you all like it!!

I picked up 2 on BF. I normally wouldn`t go near a store on BF but I got off a mid shift at 6 AM and when I was driving by there were only a few cars in the lot. Stocked up on some Proline grout sponges and Folex while I was there. Did I mention I hate shopping, parking lots and standing in line? Gotta love buying online.... if Amazon sold groceries I`d never go to a store!

    Thumbs up

My local Home Depot has the platform in the weekly ad for $19!

If you want to try and see if your local HD will match it, my zip is 55398 to see the complete local ad.

View "Weekly Specials 4/8" and the Werner platform is on page 6 (of 8).

I love mine too. As mentioned, it`s great for taller SUV`s as I`m vertically challenged anyway.

To avoid paint scuffs, get some velcro tape roll and run a line along the top. Then get some old MF towels and the velcro holds them nicely in place.

GREAT tip! I`ve been concerned about getting too close when I have to stretch for a large roof. I`ve got a large roll of velcro and I was thinking about using the soft side as a bumper. I like your method better... MFs offer thicker padding!

It`s been rough buffing the roofs of SUV`s and Trucks. I have only had a small step ladder up to this point and I have almost killed myself plenty of times. It may not be tall enough to do very high lifted vehicles, but this thing is nice because it allows you to walk along it as you work. It is also lightweight for easy carrying. It seems very sturdy and it has made my last detail a lot easier and safer.

    Has anyone else used it?

Werner Ladder - Work Platform I highly recommend getting some grip tape for it while you are there also. I went back to get some because it does get kind of "slippery when wet."
WOOT !!!ancing Dot: ancing Dot: ancing Dot:

JUST got back from Home Despot - picked it up fro $19.00 plus tax.

It`s on sale through the 14th - all HDs within 20 miles were out of stock at 9:00 this morning - went to purchase and wait for them to come in (per service department) but their shipment *of six pieces*arrived an hour ago (they got it off the truck for me).

Like your idea so I tried it - not too bad.

Than I saw my roll of carpet tape and block of open cell foam...hmm.

Scissors, box cutter, carpet tape and foam - 30 minutes later:

    Randy,

I wanted to thank you for posting the links for this product. Although they were not in our local sales flyer, I printed the page from your link and took it a local Home Depot here in Florida.

The unfriendly clerk at the customer service desk said that they would not match the price so I asked to speak to the manager who agreed to sell it to me at the $19 price which is half off the $39 retail price.

He would only allow me to purchase one so if you guys want to take advantage of the offer print the page from Randy`s link but you must hurry as the sale ends tomorrow, April 14.

    Dr. Don
Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
