A `True detailer` is one who can take a beater and turn it into gold and have tears coming from the eyes of the client.
Detailing newer model cars doesn`t have same punch to it!

I agree to a point having worked on turds the majority of my detailing career, but the dramatic difference you get when cleaning a turd makes it much easier to impress the customer. It`s when you get a beautiful car in that already looks perfect that you really have to bring your "A" game and bring the finish to the next level, which I find much harder than cleaning a turd.

There are many detailers that could be on this list, so I`m gonna mention only one: Kevin Brown. He hasn`t really posted many of his jobs, but all of them were incredibly thorough and detailed, informative and educational. Kevin rocks!

While that may be your opinion;I can tell you my experience is that it is far harder to make a great car perfect then make a `beater` look good. Of course that same level of patience, dedication, and passion can be applied to a beater, and often you can create (more) stunning results. I feel there are far more important critera to judge a `true detailer` on then the quality or types of cars they work on.

I judge a detailer in how happy they make there clients, as long as the provide an honest service. There are so many faucets and niches in detailing, that no `one type` is better or more qualified then the next. Instead the unifying factor is the client satisfaction, often derived by offering great service and amazing value. Trying to limit the definition past that, I find, is rather limiting.

I totally agree with you. Kevin posted one of his details on MOL about the same time I joined last year in August. To me this is the best detail job I have seen. Only one other has come close since.

I`m going to take a chance and post a link to Kevin`s Work Truck Detail. My apologies in advance if I am breaking a rule.

I`ve only met two high end detailers so far and that being Mike Phillips and Jason Rose. Not only did I learn a lot about detailing from these two gentlemen but picked up an enormous amount of insight on the proper attitude and outlook on detailing in general. On the various forums I have had tons of questions answered by a lot of detailers that took the time to answer my dumb questions when I knew they had more important things too do.So to not mention all those that have helped me along the way would be an injustice . Please accept my deepest thanks and your understanding for not being able to mention everyone by name.

Being new to this forum, some of the people mentioned I haven`t had the pleasure of seeing their work so... As for inspiration three people come to mind and it is because of seeing the pictures of what they can do, absolutely stunning work. Nick Chapman, Todd, and Joe from Superior Shine. I truly hope when I grow up I am able to be in the same zip code as those three gentlemen. I am consistently blown away by their abilities. From a learning standpoint it would have to be Mike Phillips, Kevin Brown, and Nick in no specific order. Those of you that I may forgotten, forgive me but I`m old! Seriously, I have gained knowledge from everyone who takes the time to post what they have done and are gracious enough to share their knowledge. Almost forgot, Tim Lingor as well.

I really enjoy a lot of guys work. So many different detailers that have brought so much to the table over the years. I have tried to learn anything I can from every one of them.

I would have to say Angelo, and TH001 because I have seen their dedication and professionalism first hand, as well as the business interaction side. The client interaction I experienced while working with TH001 was second to none, and it worked so well because his personality flows so well with the client. It made the business that much more fun for me.

The results were pretty good too as some of you might have seen.

As many of you have already stated, I am very inspired by Todd, Bryan Burnworth, Angelo, Bob from Auto Concierge, Bill Luster, and many of the others that have been mentioned.

There is one person that I haven`t seen yet, who consistantly produces some of the BEST results, as well as some of the most informative posts. This detailer would be none other than Dave from Street Dreams:clap:

Keep up the great work guys!ancing Dot:

    I loves me "the hack."

If it was not for him hacking up my wifes car, I would of never got into this craft.
