    The Big Show

Been to the Auto Fair many times and never came away disappointed.Only problem with the infield and all the outer areas, you can`t see it all in three days.If your looking for parts or complete cars this is a good show and swap meet.

Nah, believe it or not, it was a very cheap paint job. There is a local shop that restores old VWs. These guys do all the work on the side - they all have full time jobs. They have a make shift paint booth set up in their garage that they paint the cars in. I didn`t want to dump a ton of money in mine, so the prep work before the paint was laid down isn`t as good as it could have been.

My plan is to sell this Bug, and buy another one (in similar condition to how this one started), and do a better job on it. The guys at the shop are teaching me how to prep a body for paint, and how to paint, and they will let me do the next one myself...so the price of labor won`t be an issue then.

I have been learning a lot from these guys. We made a deal...one of them is an ASE certified mechanic. I wetsand and polish all the cars they restore for free, and they work on my Bug, as well as my other 3 cars for no charge (I just supply parts). It`s a pretty good deal for both parties.

That`s Awesome. I`ve only painted car parts with an HVLP spray gun powered by a 60 gallon compressor about 2-3 times and it`s a lot of fun, if you like that sort of thing.
