And if you plan on keeping it long term do NOT do 10K mile oil changes that VW reccomends. Stick to 5K mile oil changes. If you buy an oil extractor it`s super easy to change the oil as the oil filter is on top. You can pick up a Mityvac for $100. Also don`t be afraid to run the snot out of it to get the oil nice and hot to try and prevent carbon buildup.
Thanks for the heads up. A friend told me to follow the VW maintenance guide lines religiously. It definitely won`t hurt to up the oil changes.

Thanks everybody for the advice! Can`t wait to really get the VW to shine. Unfortunately, I recently had wrist surgery. So no polishing for another few weeks. But Beadmaker is so easy to apply by hand. I just couldn`t help myself and put two layers on. One heavy and then a second light coat the next day.

I will say that owning it for a week. It doesn`t feel like a entry level vehicle. If anything it rides smoother and quitter and the Cadillac. Of course I am comparing 2 year to 16 years old vehicles.

Great you found a vehicle that fits her...My wife also is short & weights 85lbs. Was looking at the later model srx`s, but went w/ a rx350 as she really likes the ride & comfort.

Receipts are a must. Years ago when VW had their “coking” of the oil issue. You needed all receipts for oil changes. My sister was missing one and was rejected for a motor. Fortunately the neighbor was the VW dealer she purchased it from and he went to bat for her and got it done.
