    Electrified pump foamer

Here’s my take on some YouTube ideas, of adding an electronic tire air compressor to a pump sprayer.

This is what I put together...
The compressor, rechargeable, with a bendable snap on
connector. ( not sure about naming everything, threw away the instructions)

Rubber sealed, wrench on tire valve.

Using an IK 1.5 foamer, drilled a 3/8ths. Hole

Was too tight, so I filed it a bit.

    It fit snug

So I wrench it on, careful not to crack the plastic.

YouTubers strapped the compressor on with zip ties or Velcro. That didn’t look removable, or stable to me.

I used an old eyeglass case, with a metal belt clip.

Cut a hole for the bendable connector, and trimmed it down some.

Using a Velcro strap over the bottle nozzle and under the handle, I then slid the belt clip over the Velcro.

Put the compressor in it’s holster and hooked everything up

Time to set the air shut off point.
TRC site says 30psi, so I set her at 27psi.
This compressor is supposed to stop itself at the set limit of your choosing.

    Start button on the end.

My test run, to see if it shuts itself off...close.

    Here goes....

    IT WORKS !!

Emptied the foamer, every time the air was used up, I just pushed the button twice and it kicked in. SWEET !

Now to order up the foam 12 from TRC. It has an air valve
already installed. Slide this holster on and have some foam.

    Re: Electrified pump foamer

In seeing people do things like this, or add schrader valves to their IK 9`s, the new arrival of the IK Foam Pro 12, I have set to thinking about how I can make an electric pump version of these foamers. The hardest part will be finding a pump that is small enough, but powerful enough to create the pressures needed to make the foam.

The one she used would work, well I don`t know how many times it could pressurize the Pro 12 on a single charge. But I`d imagine a decent number. Attach it to the side of the Pro 12 with some double sided sticky tape. I actually want to get the Pro 12 + the same pump OP used. I`m about to go look it up to see it`s specs. I gotta imagine it probably will take a long time to get the Pro 12 up to 58 PSI though.

    Awesome done Mary!

Have a look out of a great cordless electric air pump. What brand and modell is this air pump? I have an Epoca Foamer 1L and it`s awefull a lot of pumping. Have not found any good and not too expensive air pump here in Sweden yet. Had been great to have the tire cleaner and it`s the same I use to pretreat the bug squash if not the prewash was enough. Handy to have this little foamer to do this. Now I don`t use it but have an pump spray bottle instead. When foaming I can use it less concentrated and getting a longer dwell time.

Thanks for shareing your build of this and the testing! Looking like it works great.

Someone that has already installed a schrader valve to their Ik9 needs to try using this to keep their Ik9 at pressure. I am not willing to sacrifice my Ik9 for something that may not work.

From the readings, it seems like one of these small tire inflators could actually do a decent job at inflating the IK Foam Pro 12, I would assume at least twice. The biggest benefit to the 12 over the 9 is the size of the tank, if I have one gallon of solution in both foamers, I can fill the 12 with more air than the 9, thus getting a longer spray time in between pumping intervals. The question is, who wants to spend the money on the IKFP12 and blow more money on one of these inflators, all within a short time period, to satisfy the curious. I personally would like the IKFP12 for the longer spray time, as I suggested^, but as I am a currently a broke college student, again, I do not see me purchasing the 12 until next summer.
