Surface protection (Has come a long way!)

Yikes. You got choices now! We went from....

    Wax
    Sealants
    Hybrids
    Coatings
    Spray on wipe off sealants
    Spray on rinse off coatings
    Spray on wipe off coatings

What`s next? Got to love the idea of work smarter not harder. And the new breed allows you to do just that.

Clear coats that don`t get any swirls or scratches.....The first sealant I use was in 1984 by a company call Apple. It was the bomb! Made mucho dinero off of it.

With all the Autopianism getting applied to the subject, the whole "coating/Si/etc." thing is getting so involved that I wonder if it really is making things all that easier. I`m still debating whether to recoat some wheels vs. just going back to LSPing them.

By “LSPing” I’m assuming you mean a sealant. I find coating wheels just as easy as sealing them, but sometimes the cost of a wheel coating does not make sense. A tub of FK does a great job and will last a lifetime of wheels. I normally have enough coating left over from doing the paint to do the wheels. This is where we Autopians sometimes don’t think things through and buy a specific product for wheel coating when most wheels are clearcoated just like paint. I can see plastic and glass being different, but to me wheels and paint are too similar.

I just want a clear coat that applies like a spray wax and can be layered.

There is an episode of Mickey and the Roadster racers where they fix up a car. I love Donald so I had to snag it off my Tivo.

I’m happy we’re things are.... if clearcoat self healed and stays shiny... lots of autopians out of jobs. Rest of us would have no hobbies..... and 5% of people here would have to go be negative somewhere else

And if it self cleaned after every rain and tires and wheel wells stayed fresh and flawless, we Autopians would be extinct
Treat it like it`s the only one in the world.
