Angry Fed Ex Problem Has this happen to anyone else

I made a purchase last tuesday at autogeek and it shipped fedex, I was suppose to have it Friday, then Monday, then Tuesday. When I checked it today it said it was headed back to Autogeek. I called Fedex and the said the package was damaged and they are returning it to the sender.

I had fed-ex deliver a $800 coil spring compressor to the wrong address. Of course fed-ex said it was delivered to my address. I don`t know who got it, but they got a big present and weren`t honest enough to say anything. Too many people who show up for a paycheck, but don`t care about what they do.

Trust me it’s better if it was returned. I got a bottle of T1 that leaked but was not evident t from the outside. It made a huge mess in the kitchen - oops.

Yes, several times. Mostly due to the delivery company dropping/damaging gallon container shipments.

Same here, more problems with FedEx than any other deliverer.

LOL, that was good...wasn`t Amazon doing something where they were putting packages in the trunk of your car?

But seriously, the post office has improved a lot in what, the last decade I guess. FedEx never really was the same after UPS invaded the overnight market 30 years ago, but I personally get good service from them (there seem to be some regional differences that have been noted here before, between UPS and FedEx). Gallon containers are always a problem, I kind of think it`s dependent on the shipper, some of them just seem to do a better job packing them than others. ADS, back in the day when they sold liquids, always did a phenomenal job packing their stuff.

This happens every so often, it`s inevitable. Those packages are moving very fast through the system and sometimes stuff just happens. Most of it is automated, but you still have persons unloading and stacking it in the trucks. My advice is to use better packing and better tape. Normally if something is broken open it gets taped on the line, or if it`s bad enough it is sent to get repacked. They really try to get you your stuff. If something is leaking, well, then it does get sent back if it can. That`s about all the info I can say, but it happens with UPS, FedEx, etc. USPS uses FedEx and UPS to do most of their work BTW.

EDIT: Most of the problems come from poorly packed and taped items, not the system.

FedEx is independent contractors? I dunno, I see it a little differently, but I agree the UPS workforce seems more motivated...but of course UPS is employee-owned, and the union gets them great wages and benefits...I talked to one driver who quit a civil service job to work for UPS (which may be more of a comment on how civil service jobs have been eroded). On the other hand, as I mentioned earlier, when FedEx`s "monopoly" was broken thirty years ago (when UPS decided to enter the overnight market and compete directly with FedEx), their non-union workforce has been demoralized. In my view they went from "The Golden Package" with the golden work force, to a company that everyone seems to hate to work for. The Flying Tigers acquisition was no help with that either.

Oh, and it`s possible things have changed, but there is a huge difference between UPS and FedEx when you call with a problem...UPS you talk to someone local who actually cares, and FedEx you get a call center where no one cares.

You guys are going to have to explain about the independent contractor part, apparently I`m not up to date.
