    Coating modern windshields

I have a new Subaru in the shop with all the no hit sensors in the windshield. This got me thinking does coating the windshield cause any problems? I couldn’t find any information on this so until I do, I’m holding off on windshield coating. Any opinions?

Here in Florida, glass coatings or water repellents on glass are such a necessity. I`d say a very high percentage of my details I`ll just go ahead and coat the glass. It`s fast and easy enough, and I know my customers notice once they get their first, second and this rain storm.

I`ve coated a ton of windshields with EyeSight or rain sensors and never had a problem. Coat away ☺

I also have my windshield coated. I went about a year and a half or so then polished and re coated again. I really don`t need to use my wipers much, everything just sheds off. Its probably due for a replacement though, I have a nasty chip that was repaired poorly.

Most of my cars have the forward crash protection sensors. I’ve been coating my windshield Without issue. In fact if the glass is cleaner it should work better.

Driving home from Vermont on a slushy
Day I got a warning that my forward impact system was inoperable. Big warning on Dash info cluster. We pulled over for lunch and I cleaned the windshield and front looking glass. And bingo warning lights out and it was back to its normal function.

    Coat away !
