Smile Shower Thoughts: Testing Automotive Washing Products in Non-Traditional Applications

Isaac Asimov once said that `the most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not "Eureka!" but "That`s funny..."`

Seeing how easily certain mitt and car wash combinations glided over my car`s sheet metal, and the lovely smells so many of those washes offer, I recently wondered which other cleaning applications they might suit. In the shower, traditional soap was leaving my skin dry and irritated, so a change in routine was in order. I diluted some Meguiar`s Gold Class with plenty of water in a spray bottle and spritzed myself down, letting the mix dwell for a few seconds before running a microfibre wash mitt around the birthday suit and rinsing.

Lo and behold, the wash-up was speedy, smooth and I smelt like bubblegum afterwards. The nominal protective layer courtesy of the `wax` component seems to add a nice moisturising effect. I will definitely be using this method from now and on and will get in touch with Meg`s to see if they can perhaps trial some honey and cinammon-scented options.

I look forward to trying out dropped clay for exfoliation, and summer where I can assist the national water conservation effort by utilising grit-guards and the Optimum No Rinse system in the bathroom.

Edit: This post was made in jest. While I haven`t yet tried using car wash on myself, it`s an intriguing idea given how good some of them smell and the stockpile of bottles I have. That said, I`d imagine most of the chemicals, including SLS, wouldn`t be great for long-term skin health. Still, I think I might start using old mitts in the shower if they continue to glide so easily.

I`ve used my DA, AIO, and sealant on my shower glass doors but I think this guy is pushing the limits lol.

are carnauba and polymers safe to be absorbed into ones skin?

don`t get me wrong I have thought a few times...why can`t I just RW myself but it was followed (literally) by "thats funny"
then I took a normal shower
