Heh heh, thanks...nice to be appreciated. FWIW, I do realize that some of my zero-tolerance positions on certain issues can make me a bit, uhm...not to everyone`s taste

Yeah, my postcount oughta be taken with a grain (or shakerfull) of salt...it got messed up during the Big Change and they estimated it (ditto my Join Date).

    Yeah#2, the "Wilson" analogy resonates

No digital imaging for me, never posted a pic to the internet, don`t intend to. Call me paranoid, but all the sharing just isn`t me. Don`t even have a smartphone, haven`t used my cellular yet this year.

No water runoff to speak of in *MY* driveway! Good trench-drain (oil separator, connected to septic) down the middle of my shop floor

    Just for the record- as of March 2017 our vehicles are: `85 Jaguar XJS-HE (~18K), `93 Audi V8 (~76K), `00 Tahoe Z71 (Old Body Style, ~123K), `00 Audi A8 (~158K), `01 Audi S8 (~18K), `08 Crown Vic (P71, ~23K).

What if the above was really posted by a machine, and it`s just made to make us think it`s human so that we are comfortable interacting with it. Like David from Prometheus (or the droid from the Alien Movie).

I learned to wash like Accumulator as well. That being the case, he owes me $78 for a boar`s head brush and 0.06 mils of clearcoat that I lost removing the scratches installed by said boar`s head brush. "Griot`s soap", phhh.

Thanks, HCF. Heh heh, hitting this thread is starting to feel like narcissism

And that presoaking isn`t the half of it! Which brings us to why my BHB-centric stuff won`t be for everybody:

    1) inspect (no excess adhesive at the base of the bristles) and CD-test (wet) the new BHB to make sure it`s OK
    2) reinspect/retest it regularly and replace it when the flagged bristletips start to wear down
    3) don`t press hard enough to bend the bristles over, just use the tips
    4) don`t expect it to get *all* the dirt off, just use it for the "big stuff" then follow-up with something else
    5) don`t use it to speed things up even though that can be tempting; do small areas
    6) don`t use long, sweeping motions (just in case it catches something abrasive and causes marring)
    7) minimize such threats by always spraying foamgun output at the point of BHB-to-paint contact

FWIW, the last time I compared a bunch of BHBs the only (regular/big-size) ones that passed muster where from Universal Brush (also sold as the "Montana").

The foamgun helps immensely with the need for (relatively constant) rinsing and flushes away the dirt that the BHB dislodge (especially if you jiggle the BHB while moving it). IME the dirt doesn`t really "migrate up the bristles away from the paint". (Hence my reliance on the foamgun.)

There, if that was helpful then maybe something actually *productive* might`ve come from this group hug Not that I`m complaining!

Grats- I always like the way you carefully word each post. A lot of thought goes into them.
You have a way of saying very specific things without always directly saying it.

I just like reading them from a literary standpoint

It`s *very* gratifying when people like the way I express myself. I seldom put as much time into my posts as I feel I oughta and I`m well aware of how things can, uhm...come across wrong...online.

And yeah, IMO some stuff is best said obliquely
