I just realized I have a natural gas connection in my garage for my hot water heater. I assume the regulator would need to change to add a second device.

I`d like to figure something out too. I`m ordering the garage door insulation kit from Home Depot. It seems to have good reviews. Honestly I just want to be able to apply wax without it thickening from being insanely cold

You can see my heater in the upper right hand corner of this picture. I have been using this for a few years now and it has worked great.

It is a Fahrenheat 7,500 watt heater and throws quite a bit of heat. I rarely ever need to go above the low seating on it.

I would actually work on getting it insulated first.

I`ve got a 240v electric unit I have heating my 1200sq ft space right now and it had been keeping my garage at 61 degrees up until this week when temps were in the single digits. It was maintaining around 54 all last week with the bitter cold temps outside.

ShawnF350- Heh heh, by now you know I don`t do digital imaging So no picks...but I`ve used different types of radiant heaters in a few shops and IMO they`re great *if* you have the NG available. Some of the dealerships I patronize have `em too.

Bunky- No need to vent with my current radiant heaters for safe operation. The ones in my previous shop did need holes poked for it though, just depends what kind you get.

The Reznor (!?sp?!) type ones work fine too, but the ones in my shops were never as clean as I thought they oughta be. The exact same units in other buildings *are* clean though, so maybe it`s situational.

I`ve got a 70k BTU torpedo style kero heater. If you run the good kerosene in it the odor is very minimal. I typically open the garage door and then fire it up. I let it get hot for 5 minutes or so and then close the garage door. It will heat my garage to 70F pretty quickly. I then shut it off and go about my work. I can say that it`s loud and I don`t like the noise, but that`s the price to pay on a frigid day. I keep a fan circulating the air during my time in the garage.

I probably use $20 of the good kerosene/yr.
