It Was Kept Clean, He Said

    Infiniti G35 Sedan Interior Detail

It was kept clean he said.
Had been a few weeks since it was cleaned, he said.

I only had a 3 hour window to clean the interior of this car.
I ended up getting an addition hour, totaling 4 hours.
I needed at least 2 more hours with it.

    It was filthy.
The pictures do not do justice as to just how dirty this car was.
There were coffee and soda stains everywhere.
    Scuff marks everywhere.
Items had to be moved out of the way, everywhere.

I am pleased with the final result.
It is not perfect, and by no means a "level 10" detail.
However, given the time constraints and the level of challenge to get the interior clean, I was quite pleased with the result.

I don`t have too many after shots, just a few.
The customer arrived to pick up his vehicle.
There was no time to get photos of everything.

He may now understand what "kept clean" means.
A society willing to trade liberty for temporary security deserves neither and will lose both

    Vanev-
Great job on a totally trashed Interior !
Some people are just - slobs -

I can see how that took as long as you had it for, and then it might have needed more to get it to the Detailed Level that you work to every time..
You still made it look just Great !!!!!!

Thanks for all that hard work - it really makes you tighten up and not waste one motion while you are in there, eh ?

    Great job.

I often try to weasel out of interiors explaining, "paint care requires skill; interior work is mostly want to." Even works sometimes.

If that was "not bad" I`d hate to see what it was before he cleaned it...........

Anytime a Customer states " Interior is in great shape" "Interior is well maintained" "oh, the Interior is clean"...........expect the worst case scenario...........lol

Honestly after working in a commercial detail shop for 8 years, this is clean to me. The level of filth people are willing to live with baffles me. If I have even a dog hair sitting on my dash it makes me upset.

Great work, i never trust the customer`s assessment on their exterior or interior and i always tell them that everyone has a different definition for the terms "not too bad, decent, good condition" .

Was the client happy and pleased with results? i hope he was considering the surprise given .

    Yes.
    The customer was very happy.
He also paid me very well, which makes me happy, lol.
This customer is one of the nicest guys I have ever met, patient as he can be, and is not picky at all.
Hopefully, I can form a long term business relationship with him and regularly maintain his vehicles.
Honestly, he is probably the ideal customer that a detailer could hope for.

Let me take a step back. and give more detaills on this car.
The customer contacted me six weeks ago to detail the exterior and interior of his Infiniti G35
Based on our conversation, and his description of the condition of the vehicle, I quoted him $75.00 for a basic detail package.
The customer said: "No, how about I give you $100, and you do all that you can for that amount.
    I`m like, "You got it"!

The logistical issue on this, is that it can only be on a certain day during the week, and during a certain time frame.
So, we scheduled for the following week, and it rained that day.
Rescheduled for the week after, and made it work, but due to the condition of the exterior, I never got a chance to even get to the interior that day.
I really did not get a chance to fully finish the exterior, but it did look great, and could certainly pass for a professional level detail.

I expressed to the customer that I could come back the following week, finish the interior, and there would be no additional charge.
I also told him that he did not have to pay me until the vehicle was finished.
He said that was fine as far as rescheduling, but he insisted on paying me now.
I am like "If you insist, but you don`t have to.
So, he paid me at the end of the first day.

The next three weeks, it rained every day, on that particular day of the week.
I called him every previous evening, and every morning the day of to confirm the appointment based on the weather.
So, finally 4 weeks later, the weather was beautiful, and got a chance to complete the detail.
The customer then paid me another $100 for that day`s work.
I told him again that he did not have to, but again he insisted.
I thanked him and the day was done.

    So, I ended up with:
    - A new customer, who is not picky at all, and who was very happy with my work.
    - A chance to hand out many business cards to passerby`s who expressed interest in having their vehicles detailed.
    - Got paid $200 for a quoted $75.00 job.

    I call this a win!
