For the record, hacking a Health web site was an analogy. The point was that apparently none of you have a problem with Dave hacking user accounts on this forum. But you`ll waste hours of your time rambling about how I was so wrong to ask for more quotes. Outstanding. Cheers guys.

As for responding to Dave? I am an adult. Adults talk offline, one on one. Where there is no audience to throw orange peels and hurl insults. Posting something publicly is something a child would do, and it proves that Dave has no intention of actually resolving the problem. I phoned him offline to talk like adults. Not surprisingly he did not pick up the phone. Instead he sent me a childish harassing text message.

I text him back like an adult, apologizing that things didnt pan out very well, and letting him know I had no intention of causing problems. He did not reply. Classic immature bullsh*t from someone uninterested in fixing the problem. Don`t you agree?

Besides, any response I gave here would just get ripped apart by people who enjoy fights, and this thread would go from 11 pages to 25 overnight. Useless.

Dave is angry that I dared to question his quote, and was given moderator powers which he has clearly abused. To me this is indicative of much larger underlying personality and emotional problems. Quite honestly as a member of this forum I would be uncomfortable allowing Dave to remain a moderator. But Im not a member here, and am glad to say after this post, I am history.

Much thanks to the few rational individuals who spoke up during this process. As for the rest of you? Be a little nicer to the guy who asks a sensitive question with good motives. Please.

Amen Bob, Marc and everybody else. Douchburger - you got called out and owned by Dave, and the best you can do is whine all butt hurt that Dave edited your posts...wah wah wah, pitiful little be`otch you are. You drive a beemer with pricey wheels and want the mac daddy detail, but then can`t pay. Oh, I live in Trump Palace but I only rent, I only make 150K a year, jeez, maybe you can get some food stamps. You have zero friends here and no respect, so piss off.

BTW - I`m the evil mod and will ban your arse in a nano second if you sass me back. Go cry over on AG forum.
All I have in this world is my word, and my balls and I don`t break `em for no one, you understand?"

I think the biggest reason this thread blew up is:

    A. Several KEY elements were left out from the original post.

    B. Even after several reputable detailers told you the quote was on par with what everyone else would charge, you still argued that you thought 20hrs was too much time. You simply refused to listen, and that is when it went south IMO.

OP, it`s a sensitive subject and whether meant as a slight or not, it was taken that way. We hear you apologizing for "asking if the quote was right/whatever" but that is not it. You`re missing it. It`s that you continued to push in one way or another. Again, it has nothing to do with asking. Do a search and you`ll see we all help out when someone ask the question.

I am about 99% sure you agreed to allowing moderators and admins edit posts and threads when you registered and agreed to the end user agreement. That does not make it just or not. But it is not hacking.

Personally, if there is not foul language, adult content, trolling or slander going on, I can`t see editing being necessary. But I can`t really recall exactly what was originally posted and what was edited.

There are several take aways from this thread....

1- The OP should have started a thread outlining what he was looking for, included sun shots or other shots to accurately show the car`s condition, then asked in general what a fair pice should be for what he wanted. Anytime you start a thread stating that you were quoted $XXXX and you think that`s high isn`t gonna go so well.

2- Dave should have just told the OP that his hourly rate is $XX, and he wouldn`t be able to give him a quote until he saw the car. The reason I say this is I believe the OP has no idea what condition his car is really in. He probably has very little experience identifying paint defects (wetsanding marks, orange peel, pigtails, etc...). My guess is that if Dave had met with him, pointed out the issues and described what was involved in correcting them, he may have understood why 20 hours may be required. With that said, I fully believe Dave coulda gone over that beast with a solid 1 step (still leaving behid several defects), and the OP would have thought it was "1000% perfect"....because again, I don`t think he has any idea how bad his car really is. I am amazed with how many people can`t see swirls, even when you point them out to them. Some people have an eye for paint defects, and some don`t I guess.

3- Quality detailers are still perceived by the general public as just being car cleaners. Sad....especially seeing as to how my detailing arsenal exceeds (in value) the cost of most of my clients` golf clubs....and most good detailers have spent more time honing their craft, than said clients spend taking golf lessons and on the driving range.

4- You can really rent a condo in Trump Tower on a $150k salary? Interesting

5- I think the OP will be in for a shock when he trades in, or sells his "brand new BMW" and sees what a bath he is gonna take because it has been repainted.

this thread is hilarious, i never seen so many people hop on someones balls, most of the pros on this site are just puppets to the manufactures to say how good their products are in order to get some discounts. this is a detailing site, i have a life but i do enjoy seeing people get upset over something stupid like little kids. i think im going to go wash my car and put on a fresh coat of turtle wax, then write a post about how good their wax is. maybe i will get some of you to follow. im sure if turtle wax decided to give some pros their products they will make a post about it being the next best.

Dave Fermani Wrote: Right, besides all these people not knowing the FACTS, your 2010 1 year old car isn’t “brand newâ€. Far from it I’d bet seeing that it already has been completely repainted, wet-sanded and buffed by some hack dealer body shop and then rehacked by another “Detailer†that couldn’t get it done in the 1st or 2nd time around. I’d say it’s far from “BRAND NEWâ€.
    Dear arrogant idiot.

You are a total Tool. Its a brand new 2010 BMW with 60 miles on it. It had never been driven. I searched Auto Trader for low mileage 2010`s because the 2011 body style on the six series was horrible to me. I wanted the old style. So I purchased it from Reading BMW from Michele Grim. You can call her yourself and she will confirm. It was the last of the old body style remaining. It was sold as Metallic Black and I wanted Jet Black so I had them paint it. 60 miles on it, *****.
