    Shiny Mew,

Appreciate the support, still waiting on the answers though 😁. Thinking about starting a thread with for those questions but I thought commenting here would be more appropriate.

I believe people look at a thread like this and decide not to participate this far into it simplly because they don`t want to go back and read comments from 8 years ago on a forum that doesn`t exist as it did then in order to come up to speed. Many of those members no longer participiate on this forum. More importantly should they not do this they really don`t know the relevance of your post with respect to this thread. I`d suggest you start a new thread.

Or restate whatever questions remain unanswered.

Though I do question just how well such topics will ever turn out..."wax durability stinks" whereas I have waxes that long outlast most of my sealants.

Find what you like and use it as often as necessary.

I use wax (Collinite 476S) on the dark blue `93 Audi because:

-It looks good, just right on that paint IMO
-It lasts a long time, much longer than many sealants I`ve tried (once a year applications at most on that car)
-It protects well, better than many sealants I`ve tried
-It conceals a little, again better than any sealant I`ve tried
-It lends itself well to spot-correction (don`t need to redo the whole panel or do mutliple layers)
-It`s easy to work with and I like the scent
    -I have a multiple-lifetime supply

I`d happily *never* spend one minute on this stuff if I could magically keep my vehicles the way I want them without effort. I even think of using the Magic Checkbook approach, but my local so-called "detailers", uhm....well, they aren`t touching my vehicles.
I`ve been using 845 IW since 1974 (no typo). all of the above applies to my experience with it.

I started a similar thread a year ago about carnauba waxes, if they were still relevant in today`s detailing. Please see:
Are carnuaba waxes an obsoleted car-care product?? (Continuing on the great debate...)=

jimmie jam- Heh heh, ironically enough (as you just bumped this thread with a Quote of my post), I recently switched that old Audi over to FK1000P! Doesn`t look as nice IMO but I did have my reasons. Still using 845 on some sections of it though.

Now if I can just get some of my fellow Autopians to buy my 476S and M16!

I though that you (or someone) might get a chuckle out of it after a 5 1/2 year post. I could not resist

Well, I can find it intereting to see how stuff (including my own opinions and practices) changes/doesn`t over the years.

Seems like people have been calling carnaubas obsolete for a long time now, but I bet a lot of people are still happy with them.
