I never made that statement and would not ever make that statement. I have seen you attribute that statement to me more than once. It is ridiculous : I have purchased several products that need to be shaken.

I am positive you said that but if you say you didn`t, okay I`ll take your word on it. You did seem to make a big deal about the shaking part though.

btw...I`m still waiting for Shokar...I know it is going to make Zaino and Klasse users take notice

Werkstatt = Shokar. I even made a thread about it and have mentioned it numerous times.

The search function works fine...Just put "RIC" for user and "Optimum" for search term...7 threads, including this one come up.

:nixweiss Each time I do, it pops up a blank search page. I am using Opera for my browser, that may be the problem, since pages don`t refresh automatically on Autopia using Opera but they do in IE7.

Anyway, regardless of what you said or didn`t say, the actual time involved isn`t my main problem with ZFX, which is what you alluded to.

As long as there is a ZFX requirement for the first application of Z5 Pro, I won`t be using it anyway. I am basing my `appearance` observations vs Z2 Pro and the old Z5 topped with Z8 because that is what I have used. In any event, appearance is subjective, so honestly, I don`t know why that would even bring that part up. Just like some people (like me) really like how Meguiars #16 looks and to others, it is very ordinary.

Having used both product lines (JW and zaino) on darker colors IMO you do need AJ topped with CJ or a good carnuba to get the look of Z5pro.

Okay, I`ll take your word for it, that to you, AJ needs a carnauba topper to match the appearance of Z5 Pro. That doesn`t mean everyone would necessarily agree. Personally, I think even a cheap carnauba looks better on my car than AJ but other people loved how my car looked when I had AJ on it.

My durability of AJ was 4 months and in the past with old Z2 with ZFX I have got 6 months on my daily driver. The car with AJ got Z8 1-2x a month, Z8 was not around when I used the old Z2 w/ ZFX on my daily driver.

I used my brother`s silver Honda Odyssey to test both products. Garaged at night, tunned washed 2-3 times a month. No wax option with the wash, no QDs. Both Prime/Acrylic Jett and AIO/ZFX`ed Z2 Pro x 3 held up past the 8 month point and (remember, this is the subjective part) with AJ, both he and I thought the van looked better.

I also think I did a very fair review of Zaino when I used it, not only Z2 Pro but the original Z5 and Z8. I like the products but that pesky ZFX requirement keeps me from loving them.

Sorry, RIC, but the Search was working for me and I found 2 threads where you were complaining about OCW having to be shaken and in particular, you said:

I purchased Optimum based on the reviews here and elsewhere. Seems all the reviewers failed to mention that the product seperates and must be shaken before being used. That fact alone would have caused me not to purchase it.

P.S. I`m not taking sides with ScottWax. If I had found no evidence of you making that statement, I would have posted that as well.

Scott, Thanks for clearing that up that you have never tried Z5pro.

I understand that appearance is subjective and in my eyes AJ is just to bright for reds/blacks on its own.

You guys have the good air down there for sure to test durability.

No heavy industry really helps. To be sure, 8+ months from both products is impressive.

I thought I had mentioned earlier I had only used Z2 Pro and the original Z5 (which seemed to work very well for me without ZFX and simply topped with Z8) but if I wasn`t clear that I haven`t actually used Z5 Pro, I apologize for the confusion.

BTW, this is my car with Shokar, aka Werkstatt:

Scott, you should try Z-5Pro. Without first hand knowledge, you may not be aware how wet things can look with Zaino. It looks terrific on black.

I agree about Z5 Pro..While I have used Z2 Pro on black for years, on some blacks it was a tad bright, but I still liked it. I just used Z5 Pro for the first time this past weekend on a black 2002 Explorer and it definately gives a warmer, carnoobish look to it, with that little twinkle of reflection that you know its Zaino.

So let me see if I have this correct, the new process for Z with the new products would be:

    Z7 wash

    Clay

ZPC / ZAIO / Z1 (depending on severity of defects)

Z2 / Z5 (with ZFX if you want to add more than one layer on the same day)

    Z6 (to remove smudges/light dust)

Z8 or CS (to refresh the Z2/Z5)

    Does that order seem correct?

I love how the "No Pictures Policy" (and all the flack they gave/give Autopia for it) flew out the window with that thread, or did the policy change? :p But, if its for Zaino I guess there`s an exception to every rule
