You know it`s becoming mainstream when these guys take a crack at this marketshare.

    SAFEarth Products:

Professional Eco Friendly Auto Detailing Car Care Products - Green eco SAFEarth Products by Auto Magic

    What makes it Green?

All of the SAFEarth® Products have been specially formulated to reduce harm on you and the environment without sacrificing the professional performance of the detailing ability. Each of the products are:

    Non-Toxic:

Products that are not composed of poisonous or toxic materials that harm the environment or human health. All SAFEarth® Products are non-toxic.

    Phosphate-Free:

Phosphorus, generally in the form of phosphates, has historically been one of the main ingredients in detergents. In the detergents, phosphates serve as a “builder” to improve the detergent’s cleaning efficiency. Their strong cleaning performance, however, has increasingly been overshadowed by their harmful effects on rivers, lakes, streams, and other fresh waters. Higher than normal phosphate levels can destroy the health of the lake, stream or other fresh water body, as they allow algae in the water to grow faster than would naturally occur, turning clear lakes and rivers green and cloudy. SAFEarth® Products contain no phosphates

    NPE-Free:

NPE (Nonylphenol Ethoxylate) is a chemical that is used in many industrial cleaning products as a surfactant and cleaner. The problem with NPE is they break down into Nonylphenol (NP), which is more toxic than the original NPEs and remain longer in the environment. NP and other breakdown products of NPEs have been found in streams and rivers, drinking water, treated wastewater, sediment and sewage treatment plant sludge. NPEs may hinder the reproduction, growth, and survival of aquatic life. Research also shows that human placenta exhibits changes in response to NP in the first trimester. The result may be early termination of pregnancy and fetal growth defects. SAFEarth® Products contain no NPEs.

    VOC Compliant / Ozone Safe:

V.O.C.’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) contribute to the formation of ozone. This is unhealthy to breath and that is why they are regulated. VOC regulations apply to products used (at this printing) in California and the Northeastern states. This legislation is devised to cut down on the amount of organic chemicals that are released into the air. Once in the air, the solvents react with sunlight and oxygen and produce ozone. All SAFEarth® Products are VOC Compliant.

    Acid-Free:

The chemical characteristic of having a pH of 7.0 or greater. Acids are harmful to humans and have a pH of less than 7.0. All SAFEarth® Products are acid-free.

    Eco-Friendly Dyes and Fragrances:

Dyes that do not contain heavy metals or toxic substances and have a high fixation (or absorption) rate, which means using less dye to generate colors. SAFEarth® Products also use food grade dyes that have even more eco-friendly characteristics. Eco-friendly fragrances are typically food grade in nature, such as D-Limonene which is extracted from orange peels. They can also contain eco-friendly surfactants that are DfE (Design for the Environment) certified; such as in the case with SAFEarth® Products.

    Recyclable:

A designation for products or materials that are capable of being recovered from, or otherwise diverted from waste streams for recycling. All SAFEarth® Product packaging is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and 100% recyclable. Product labels are printed on FSC certified 100% post-consumer (recycled) fibre.

AMs solid products are definitely solid. Since our local pricing went up, I have been scrambling to find a replacement for a few - they all fall short. Cleaners BTW, not polishes or dressings.

As I have stated before, I have used many of the products to decent success. I will agree with mike, the polishes and dressing are terrible compared to many of their other products. I ran into the same situation a couple years ago, the pricing went up too much and caused my to look elsewhere.

Yea its typically what I see - volume "style" chemical companies make good cleaners as the materials are cheaper compared to purchasing quality silicones for things like dressings, and shampoos are pretty cheap in material cost(ie. people are seriously overpaying for CGs 40-60 dollar wheel cleaners and shampoos). I think I remember at least a few dressings from AM that were actually pretty good, I just cant remember what they were.

The problem with AM(and alot of the bulk chemical companies) is they offer way too many products in their line. How many cleaners, dressings and sub-par polishes can a company think they should have? It`s like they are the "jack of all things, but the master of none"! Many very repetitive causing the end user to be confused. If they simplified and improved their lineup I think they`d be better off.
