I have a friend that needs his car detailed. He was in an industrial accident a few years ago and you can`t even be around him if you`ve showered recently, or if you`re wearing deodorant. We also make our own laundry detergent so that we can be around him without causing a reaction.

I can use just light dish soap with water, but I was trying to figure out if there were any cleaners that would allow me to clean the carpets that don`t involve, or give off an odor. I did a quick search with google, but didn`t yield and helpful results.

I hope this is the right forum for this topic...

I just checked with him and it seems that Folex, for a spot remover has no odor and may not cause any issues. It also works very well. My wife makes our own laundry detergent and I was curious about using that for the upholstery. Any thoughts on a really mild liquid laundry soap for upholstery?

Thanks guys. Could really use help on this.

Steam cleaner would be your best bet. No chemicals at all.

I`ll be saving up for a steam cleaner soon. I`m just getting back into detailing and need to get some equipment back together. I`ll check out Pro Chem in the mean time. Thanks.

Woolite and water diluted as needed for the job at hand. I had one regular that was allergic to everything (real or imagined) and it worked like a charm with no reaction from her. It works on practically everything on the interior from leather to fabric to plastics & carpet. I couldn`t even use window cleaner on the interior windows. A wet microfiber towel followed by a dry one was the solution.

It`s cheap, it works, no smell or harsh chemicals. By the way it`s the original formula Woolite.
