I`ve always avoided putting any kind of dressing on tires because I heard that most of these products contain silicon which will soon dry up and cause cracks on tire. Same with dash boards. Is it any true?

Yes and No. Your tires will probably wear out before even the worst type of tire dressing can do any harm. There are many products that contain "safe" silicones and are water based products containing UV protectants that one may choice to use with little threat of doing any damage.

I am with you about applying "anything" on my sun exposed dash. But then again their are products that offer dressings that actually help protect the dash. Normally, I just keep this area clean using a damp MF and once a year apply a thin layer of 303 Aerospace Protectant ( water-based and "good silicone") and buff any excess.

Looks great Silversparkle! I`m looking for the "silverbullet" for the red basecoat clearcoat on one of my cars.

Does the product from supershinedetail.com have petroleum distillates in it?

    Just curious.

    Thanks,

Here is their number: Questions or Comments? 1-800-816-6901

There is no mention of petro distillates on can. It does state that contains some form of silicone ( good or bad :nixweiss )

I`ve been a big fan of this product for a long time now....glad to see it getting some respect. It`s the only tire shine i use.
