After 4 washes with EACH of these - straight, no dilution

Wow. That sucks that it is still not coming out. However I think in that video it took 5 times with apc before the 2013 reload to starts to fade. Let us know what you end up doing. Regarding the PBL Coating. Does it get as hard as CQUK or add any swirl protection? I have to finish the wife`s CR-V and am debating UK, PBL or OGC

    Re: Reload Problems

that was 4 times each, so 12 times total

as far as uk or pbl..? ... uk has a deeper richer look. pbl brighter.

pbl, much less finicky, easier friendlier, and hack (ron) proof so far

as far a durability, well who knows, if it gets ya thru winter...........

I mean I`m gonna have to re-do vette

    Re: Reload Problems

I have PBL Paint Coating on hand. Only done some minor testing with it, but IMO it doesn`t seem to me to have anywhere near the mar resistance of CQ UK.

Which of course brings us all sort of back full circle.

This unique issue you seemed to have had is truly a head scratcher, especially on such a new vehicle, a vehicle which you no doubt take extremely good care of. Hell, if it was mine, I`d probably be sleeping in it at night! LOL

And also the fact that we can all assume-surmise that you "have" been around the block a few times, and do well know how to use virtually every car care product under the sun.

My thinking is this: I would assume CQ UK is still alive and well underneath the smearing, and streaking, unaffected by whatever one could throw on top short of Hydrocloric Acid and a Blow Torch.

And again, I would still say to try a more conventional wax product, or sealant as a topper, to at least try one panel for the heck of it and see what the results are?

Like I had found with the newer v2014 formula, a stubbornness of removing the oily holograms with a wash, and even two detailing sprays, which were Pinnacle Crystal Mist, and DG 521 Detailing Spray. But Colly 845 came to the rescue, and if I remember correctly that many years back on the Town Car, it was Colly 476 that saved me from that Blue Liquid Zymol disaster.

I`ll try and finish my update on the long term review on PBL coating by tomorrow.

This will be Day 323 day Update. It`s driven from Florida to Texas and my recorded updates are the only washes this Subaru has had. No one else has washed or maintained this SUV. Here`s a couple teaser pics:

Don`t laugh at my mobile setup please.

After wash with Dodo Juice Born to be mild.

    No swirls yet

I`m excited for the 1 year update.

    Lookin good !!!

I an honestly say that pbl is a great product. Easy to use with 0 learning curve, even for a hack like me.

This is an interesting thread. I had a similar experience Gtechniq Exo V2. I feel that if a product is widely difficult to use and well documented, even if some get it working perfectly that there is an issue with the product. Opti-Coat? Very easy learning curve, by the second use it was easy to get nearly perfect. No product should have to take such jumps to use correctly. That`s what has me tempted to pick up PBL Diamond Coating.

Hopefully you get it figured out Ron.

I once had a less than favorable experience with GTechniq C4 Trim Restorer.
Was the product faulty? Well, I suppose it is possible, maybe an old bottle? I suspect these little bottles are probably not flying off the shelves at $65/pop.

Or, was it me? Yes, again possible. My first time using such a permanent coating type product, and maybe I expected too much? Or I messed up with inadequate prep, or a plastic part that was well beyond resuscitation.

Regardless, it was super considerate that Kevin@GTA saw mention of the issues I had, and made good with a replacement product of my choice. Truly showed me that he and his company did take a serious concern over their customer`s happiness-satisfaction.

I have heard from more than a few here, that both GT C-1 and EXO are both world class products. Might I get into trouble with them? Sure.

Not sure, but I`ll guess and say these suspect bottles-samples of Reload had been used previously?, and perhaps without problems. What all of a sudden caused issues might be beyond all of us. Ronkh chose to give the product away, that`s cool. I reckon when some certain product won`t work for you, bypass it, at least for the time being, and move on.

I did the same with the Blue Liquid Zymol those many years ago, someone gave me a 1/2 doz full bottles of it, and I passed them on as well to someone who claimed to love the product, and they were happy.

As for the topic of topping, I know how many say such oddball products placed on top of any coatings is some sort of cardinal sin. But is it really?
Folks top Sealants with Nubas for a great 1-2 punch and love the results.

Other brain farts, and while another member has brought up GTechniq, maybe such as C1.5 Silo Seal, or C2V3 could be other choices as a topper over CQuartz. Anyone try this?

Not over CQuartz or CQUK, but over C1 and naked paint with great results. Both of those products seem to unfortunately fly under the radar, but both are great. Good thinking.

While I have a big brand new bottle of CQ UK, I think it would sort of be a waste of good product to use such on my junker Kia, and at this point in time, I really have nothing else to apply it to?

As for the two versions of Reload I have tried, they did seem to add a bit more slickness to a CQuartz UK Coating, but perhaps not as much as I had personally hoped for-expected.

The Kia would be the perfect test bed to play mad scientist on though, as I feel one cannot so much screw up a "sow`s ear" so to speak. If less than stellar results occur with trying any host of coatings or coating maintainence products on top, it`s no biggie, and I surely won`t lose sleep.

Other easier coatings-toppers I thought of were the two from DP-Pinnacle, and others such as Pinnacle BL`s other products, WOWA`s, or like you mention, even a product such as Aquawax as an easy product without turning one inside out.

I like Aquawax as well, have commonly used it as a quick detailer after a wash, easy peasy, gets rid of lints, minor water spotting, smudges, and comes off clean. Darn shame my local carquest won`t stock it, I have to special order it, then wait 2-3 days for it. I live in a one horse town.
