How to Condition Lexus Leather Seats with BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner

I used BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner on a 2014 Lexus GX460. The owner of this vehicle has never put any products on the new seats, so I was surprised to see such a huge difference! I applied the BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner using my bare hands, you can also apply it using a microfiber applicator.

By using your bare hands the BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner is massaged better into the leather giving it the ultimate UV protection.

Rub down the whole seat then wipe off the excess with a microfiber towel.

The BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner darkens the leather and also softens it. The product dries well and protects the seat from wear and abrasion. Does not attract perspiration, salt, skin oil, and dirt particles.

Re: How to Condition Lexus Leather Seats with BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner

I was going to order this product a few months ago but the description said: "This product is not recommended on perforated leathers as it could clog the pores" and since I have perforated seats on two of three vehicles I went with the DP product.

Has there been a change in the product making it more clog free for perforated seats?

Re: How to Condition Lexus Leather Seats with BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner

I have seen lots of perforated leather seats and found that the only way to not get product in the perforations is to be really careful about how much product you have on your applicator, and the technique you use to get the product onto the seat..

It would seem that if any product is applied thick and rubbed into with pressure on perforated seats is going to go right into the perforations and stay there, so you have to avoid that particular method..

It would seem that products that are not bright white and thick will be more application friendly than the opposite, but some of the best products are for some reason, white and have varying degrees of thickness

So, I just have to adjust my application and application media to work here..

A product that I found is easy to use, somewhat thinner and not bright white and always works fine for me on these types of leather surfaces is Spinneybeck Leather Conditioner.. Another brand that might work good is Leather Masters products..

    Good luck with this !

Whenever I clean/condition leather seats I like to vacuum the perforations afterwards. So if any excess product is in there, I just suck it back out. If the seats are air cooled, I turn that on too during application. But applying the product directly to the applicator first and then carefully applying a thin coat, I`ve never had an issue.

Re: How to Condition Lexus Leather Seats with BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner

Thanks guys for the comments! One of big reasons I used my bare hands for this application was to control the amount of leather conditioner I spread out. What I did was I spread the product on the non perforated leather first, and once a had a thin film of conditioner on my hand, I spread the rest on the perforated leather. No clogging occurred, and the seats turned out great!
