One runs on triple a`s the other on 18650`s. Also I`m sure driver quality is a lot better in the flex. That said, you don`t really need it as the amps required to run any xml family member is far greater than any triple a could possible provide to say, overload it if you will.

That said... Always go with an a protected cell battery as an unprotected cheap 18650 with blow your face off or kill you. I`m not speaking hypothetical either.

I would be hard pressed to buy anything full price since I know sales are so frequent. If you pick one up, I think you`ll like it!

Thanks Stuart! Maybe I`ll have to send it to you so you can give it a try against the all-powerful Brinkman?

Yeah, I haven`t seen a Brinkman in a while... They had the marine option for a while but I`m not sure if they still carry it. I think it is a good replacement option, and hopefully these reviews help you with your decision.

Awesome review! And thanks for testing it outdoors in a few of your pictures. Being mainly mobile it can be challenging to get find a good light that illuminates defects well enough to visually show and explain the issues to a customer. Thanks again.

Thank you for the review! Not sure if I would pay $40 for this light, but it looks like it`s well made. I really like the idea of the rupes light, but $70 for a pen light is ridiculous! I could buy a nice Streamlight for that kind of cash.

If they aren`t powered by 18650`s or better they are honestly a waste.

This ultrafire H6 will blow both the rupes and the flex out of the water. I use this and the headband really makes mobile work cake.

I also have a 7x Xm-l2 that I picked up for the same price as the flex light.

Thank you for the link! I`ve been looking for a good headband light for some time now. The ones I have found aren`t bright enough and at 800 lumens this thing sounds legit.

Thanks Nick! You know, in the review I thought that a narrow light would be best for outdoors, but upon further testing, it`s actually the bigger light that reveals the most defects, at least in my limited experience. Regardless, the adjustability makes it easy to adapt on the job. Thanks for the comments!

Thanks Woob! I wish I had more situations to try. Maybe soon in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks for the kind words! I like the pen light too, but not for that much money... Maybe they`ll come out with a Fupes penlight?
