Nick at PBMG was gracious enough to send out some of the new Pinnacle Black Label products for me to try. It was perfect timing as I was in the process of prepping my Dodge Ram wheels for winter. I decided to pull my front wheels and clean up/paint my brake calipers in the process. I started early and worked throughout the day taking my time and making sure I had everything cleaned, masked, and covered properly.

When painting the calipers you want to make sure that all dirt is removed or the caliper paint just isn`t going hold and will start to flake and peel. I feel there is nothing better looking on a wheel then a properly cleaned and prepped brake caliper. It just makes the whole wheel "pop".

I decided to try the Black Label Diamond Surface Coating on my wheel faces and the Wheel Coating on the inner barrels to see how the two hold up and compare.

Process:

Remove wheels and clean suspension and calipers with Megs Degreaser at 4:1
Wiped down calipers with Prep All. Mask and tape
One coat of VHT High Temp Primer
Four coats of VHT Black Calipers paint (waiting 30 mins between coats)

Wheels:

Tires cleaned with Tuff Shine Tire Cleaner (outside and inside tread)
Wheels cleaned with Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner
Wheels polished with DP Surface Coat Polish
Inner barrels treated with Black Label Wheel Coating
Outside wheel faces treated with Black Label Diamond Surface Coating
Tires dressed outside with Car Pro PERL at 1:1
Inside tire dressed with Tuff Shine tire coat

I also decided to treat my headlights with the Diamond Surface Coating after prepping with DP Surface Coating Prep Polish.

Thoughts on Black Label:

1. The Black Label products are so easy to use. I got no streaking at all using the Diamond Surface Coating. It applies very easy and removal was a breeze.
2. The Wheel Coating applied the same way and was easily buffed with a micro fiber towel.
3. A little goes a long way !!!! Two or three spritzes and the products spread so easily. The surface were left very slick and glossy.
4. I will have to see how the products hold up in the throughout the winter.
5. For the money the products seem to be very economical based on the amount used. So far I am very impressed.
