Re: Coming Soon: The Battle Of The????

I have used all of them except the Wolfs.

If I had to rank them I think it would be

    1. Tie: CG Glossworkz / Prima Amigo ( Glossworkz fills like a MOFO and Amigo can correct or fill and leaves a great darkened finish)
    2. Poorboys BlackHole
    3. XMT Glaze
    4. Sonus SwirlBuster (Tried it once and didn`t like it)

But I can`t wait for Todd`s info and thoughts.

The general consensus is that GlossWork`s fills more, hence that was chosen over other CG entries.

Re: Coming Soon: The Battle Of The????

Back when I started - it was all about cleaning, correction and topping with the flavor of the month. The general feeling was that anything that covered up rather than corrected was being a hack. Well, I changed my view some time ago and I`ll tell you why, if you don`t agree, I`ll respect your opinion but I`ll think you just haven`t had "the moment".
    Why cover?

You get a daily driver that you KNOW will be seeing the tunnel of swirls many times before you get it back, why keep thinning the clear?

You get a car that NEEDS at a minimum twice what the owner will pay for.

You get an old car that looks like the clear will come off with any buffing.

You get a car that the guy swears needs 14 steps and you know he drives it about 100 miles a month, but he`s all into what the latest fab detailing technique due to the internet.

I use CG Glossworkz, it`s good, but I`d really like a super glaze that would fill 600 grit sanding, stay in place 6 months with weekly washes and costs $10 a quart!

I saw a post recently on another forum where a guy covered 800 grit scratches with Sonax Perfect Finish. Its a controversal product because some swear it doesn`t fill, and some swear it does. The truth of the matter is it DOES, but the fillers are so durable that it takes something like oven cleaner to remove them. Sounds like money in the bank to me.

I did some testing with some products like this on my own: Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular, Amigo, Black Hole, WG PPE, BF GEP, P21S Paint Cleaner,

The SV filled and looked the best, but all of the others worked quite well.

When I worked in a body shop, many moons ago, we used to Pink Fill N Glaze.

That`s where I got my first experience with it too. And it was mostly after the guys shot DuPont lacquer too. It would fill like calk! Do you remember that smell? I do, and it`s why I always called it pink panther piss.
