Blackfire Black Ice Review

I was contacted by a dealer who purchased a 2012 Tucson sight unseen. It was destroyed inside and out. I ended up working on it in my bike shop for 6 evenings straight. I didn`t take a lot of pics because I wasn`t planning on posting anything about it until the last minute when I decided I wanted to use Black Ice on it. Here is a few shots of some paint damage before I started.







I ended up going with SIP on the rotary and Power Finish on the GG6, then applied Black Ice for the first time. I have to thank dd1101 for the sample. Black Ice applied in typical Blackfire fashion..like butter. Removal was a bit more difficult than I expected, but was still very easy. I wasn`t expecting the level of gloss and depth that it produced at all.







The next morning it was raining off and on so I couldn`t get any sun shots, and I was in a rush to get it delivered, but I did manage to get a couple outside shots.









This didn`t impress me nearly as much as what happened next. It started raining on the way there, and needless to say I was sickened because I knew this car was going to look like crap by the time I got there. I was shocked to see that other than the tires and a little on the plastics, it still looked as good as it did when I left home with it. Water beads all over, the sides were almost dry, etc. I decided to play a little, and filled a cup full of water and dumped it on the hood.





It started pouring while I was inside bs`ing with the dealer, and as I walked out I got one last shot of the hood during a full blown storm.



Needless to say, I`m beyond impressed with Black Ice. I`m not one to spend that kind of money on ANY 1 product, but I made an exception for this one and purchased some the next day. I`ve used it on many vehicles since, always with the same results. Its a home run in my book

Thank you. I would highly recommend this wax for any color, but the only problem I have found with it on light colors is rock chips. If you have rock chips, it will look like you touched it up with black paint. Ive started waxing around the chips very carefully to prevent it from happening.
