Review - Eco Touch Dashboard Protectant

Nearly everyone these days does their part to protect the environment and automotive detailing is no exception. Autopia carries Eco Touch products and I was curious to see what they bring to the game.

    So let`s get started!

Name - Eco Touch Dashboard Protectant

Container - 24oz plastic spray bottle

On the front - The label screams “green” but having a natural theme seems befitting for such a product.

The back -The label talks a bit about the environment and stresses that it doesn`t contain many of the chemicals commonly found in other protectants. The application directions couldn`t be simpler and even offers an online address if you wanted additional information.

    Product Characteristics

    • Color: Milky in appearance
    • Scent: Lemony fresh scent
    • Consistency: Thin liquid

    Product Application

    • Shake well
    • Spray onto a towel
    • Apply to the surface
    • Buff dry with a microfiber towel

    Ergonomically designed spray bottle

    Eco Touch Dashboard Protectant
is an easy to use non-greasy dashboard protectant. Once the product is buffed dry it leaves the surface looking great and feeling clean, no residual unwanted mess.

    Preparation

My first task was to thoroughly clean the dashboard. I didn’t want to accidentally contaminate the product with the existing dash protection so what better product to clean with than a dedicated interior cleaner; 1Z Cockpit Premium. A little spray then wipe with a clean microfiber towel should leave the dash clean and ready for some natural protection.

After cleaning half the dash I was sort of surprised to see so little contamination was on the towel. Just to be certain I cleaned the same area with Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner…and this was more of what I expected the towel to look like…so much for the more expensive 1Z Cockpit Premium!…

    Meguiar’s All Purpose Cleaner

Now that the dash was clean and dry it was ready for some protection.

I sprayed the product on a clean towel then wiped the vinyl panel and as you can see it’s clean but it evaporates quickly so rub it in and continue until the dash is fully covered..

Spray Eco Touch Dashboard Protectant directly on a clean microfiber towel and apply to the dash.

Eco Touch Dashboard Protectant wipes on clear.

    and dries quickly!!

Cover the entire dash then buff!

Since the product dries quickly, by the time I finished applying it I could begin buffing at the other end. Eco Touch Dashboard Protectant buffed easily to a pleasant satin shine..

    My Observations & Thoughts

Eco Touch Dashboard Protectant is just one of a complete line of Eco friendly detailing products. It`s easy to use and has a pleasant scent which many will enjoy!

If you care about the environment and your car, what better way to show it. Give Eco Touch products a try, I think you`ll be impressed!
