    Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush

I have been using Wheel Woolies almost exclusively to clean wheels, but I really wanted to try the Daytona. I just received mine this week.

The brush is well packaged keeping its form in shipping.

The construction of the brush is very nice and sturdy. There are a few finishing touches I really like. The tip and exposed wire have plastic covers to protect your wheels. Your fingers are also protected by a soft rubber guard. Very nice touches.

    Instructions from the package:

Caution Use the Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush on cool Surfaces.

Cleaning Tips: Rinse surface to be cleaned thoroughly. Use warm water and a quality cleaner. Degrease bristles after each use. To reshape brush, rinse brush in hot water and hang to dry.

    I am using D103 diluted at 10:1.

Observations: I really like this brush. The bristles are flexible enough to let the brush be used in tight places, like between the brake rotors/calipers and the wheel spokes/barrels, but strong enough to agitate the grime on the wheel. The wire construction of this brush is also sturdy enough to allow you to scrub tough grime. (I have tried other bushes that were constructed of week materials which didn`t allow you to put pressure on the brush.) I did get a bit of splatter with the brush but not bad. Removing the brush slowly helps minimize this. Simply put, this is a very good brush.

After a good rinse, I dried the wheels using a blower, applied Opti Bond, OCW, and I am good to go.

I hear voices in my mind and you’re worried that you’re the freak.

To keep the splatter down I have found it helps to rotate the brush as you remove it from the opening.

I usually use it side to side to keep splatter down.

The Speed Master is a great tool!

Both of you comment on the splatter? I guess I should have focused a bit more on the fact that I was able to control it.

I really like the brush. Best "brush" I have tried. I will definitely keep them in the rotation.

I have two the small and large and they are the best wheel brush I`ve ever used.

The one pictured looks like they have stepped up the handle, mine bends real easy and always felt it could be stiffer, is this the case?

I`m not sure if it has been stepped up or not. This is my first Daytona. I just know that it is sturdier than other brushes I have tried.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush

I used to scoff at the idea of such an expensive wheel brush until I finally bought one last year

AG had them on bogo last week and I stocked up on large and small ones. absolutely love these brushes

wheels, tight wheel wells, front grills, emblems

I use them a lot on marine jobs as well. around the cleats is the most obvious one but depending on the boat there are usually a lot of tight spaces to clean that you`re probably not gonna get your hand in with a wash mitt.

The Daytona is one of my favorite wheel brushes. Although I did just get a set of wheel woolies.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush

I tend to like the larger woolies on wheel barrels but the one advantage of these brushes is they clean up quickly. The woolies can really hold the soap and take a little rinsing to get clean.

I love my Daytona brush. It`s so much better than the older EZ Detail brush. The handle is so much stiffer. I use it on every wash.
