I suggest that you go to poorboysworld.com and find the link to his microfiber store. I can tell you that anything you purchase from his site will not scratch. Pockets told me just yesterday that they are on sale right now too. TD in fact here`s the link

Are you microfibers clean? Did you wash them first?

What is your technique - are you rubbing very hard?

Some of the cheaper ones are OK, that said I don`t use um on nice paint. Like AL said did you wash em before use?

Get a 6-pack from PB and avoid all that drama...

Use them for cleaing around the house, etc. Some people will tell you to use em on wheels or engine area. Engine makes sense, but if it scratches the paint it`ll scratch wheels.
Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It`s good to be da King !!!

When you are looking for MF products i hate to say it but the ones that you find at wall mart or wally world etc. are not good. They will only last a couple of months and than the edges will roll, or they will get clogged up and not pick up anything. And the worst part as you say they probably will cause micromarring. We use a 75% 25% blend so we get the best of both worlds soft and super absorbent! the ones you got most likely use a 80% 20%.

Thanks Dave they are currently on sale for this week the DMT`s are a great towel they are silk bordered and are the safest towel out there. They will also last after hundreds of washes and still perform like new.

We like to use a MF applicator for waxes and if you purchase a wax from use we throw one in for free.

These sound like good places to start fact finding.

I would not go so far as saying that the microfiber products available from W-M, T@rget, etc. are no good. In fact some are quite nice. Specifically the white waffle weave "dish towels" (used for glass) and the large drying towels perform right up there with most of the "better" towels. The Vroom towels make great interior towels (color coded).

Any towel/sponge/mitt etc. can scratch if used improperly.

Yes i washed them before i use them. I put them in washing machine warm water with just MF in it (with powder detergent without bleach). Low to dry without softener.
    I guess it`s proper...
but do u guys do it in some special ways?

If they haven`t been used since washing, toss `em back in the washer with some white (5% acidic) vinegar and give a "wash" (w/o detergent) and rinse.

If you are going to use a powder detergent, best to use hot water and make sure it is a detergent that completely dissolves (I sometimes use the powder version of Charlie`s Soap) and give it a vinegar rinse. Or just stay on the safe side and go with a liquid detergent w/o bleach/softener etc.

Wash with Liquid Tide Free in hot water and rinse with white vinegar(if you have stains you can pre-treat with APC).
The short nap mf are fine for cleaning interiors, but I would buy some DMT from Poorboy`s you won`t be sorry.

Remember microfiber is just a fabric. If you don`t want to spend the extra for a MF specific cleaner, any quality clothes detergent (liquid) will work fine for both your MF and your clothes; though wash the MF seperately. All, Cheer, Gain, Purex, Tide, etc. etc. etc. are all examples. Are you married? If so, your Wife will probably let you know which one she prefers.

As mentioned above, if your towels get overly dirty or stained you can pre-soak them in a bucket w/APC or your detergent, or use the Soak function of your washing machine.
