    Duragloss #105 what happened

I applied the product as per instructions, and I buffed
it with a clean microfiber. And the product seemed to
haze leaving a haze pattern of my application strokes.
This was on black, I had to use S100 paint cleanser.
to remove the haze,as a quick detailer spray would not?
If anyone has this product try it on black, and try using
a spot light and if it does this, I hope I didn`t get a bad batch. I just trying to figure out what happened, I thought this stuff was top shelf.

    Bummer.

    1. What was your cleaner prep prior to the 105?
I once had a problem with Meguiar`s Medallion wax over 3M Hand Glaze. Not all products are compatible.
    2. Did you try applying the 105 to a small area after using the S100 Cleaner?
    3. Could the applicator have had something on it?
    4. I don`t have any black vehicles, but I do have a deep maroon motorcycle and the 105 seems to look great. No haze or streaks after removal.

    Re: Duragloss #105 what happened

I applied it with a foam applicator new, I prepped the area with meguiars #9
cleaner/polish swirl remover. That gave me a clean slate to apply the 105.
There`s something wrong, I tried it on the wife`s car on black painted trim and got the same
    effect.

Some pics: I have micro marring, I know but this is product haze. The marring will be removed with ssr2.5
when I get to it,I was just testing the duragloss on
black, to see the result. The duragloss did not cause
the marring, the previous owner must have wiped the
car down with heavy dirt on it or did something stupid,
who knows. First two pics, duragloss, last two S100 cleanser.

My first guess would be something in the Meg`s #9 like trade secret oils that have not been completely removed. It`s a good idea after a polishing session to do an Isopropyl Alcohol wipedown to remove anything the polish may leave behind. Some LSP`s are finicky when it comes to applying them over stuff like that. I have never had that problem with DG.
I still don`t believe in grit guards.

Not yet Charles, I got pissed and walked away for now,I`ll be back at it
soon enough, as Jared said ,I`ll also try Isopropyl alcohol. I really want this stuff
to work, I need at least 5 months protection for upcoming NJ winter. I need a product that will buff crystal clear, this haze smear thing isn`t working for me. I will be back
    experimenting very soon.

I have 3 Black vehicles and all 3 have DG-105 on them.

You can see one of them in my avatar.
DG tells you to use 601 before applying the 105 did you do that.

I have used 105 over M80 with no problems but I agree with JP it was something in the number 9

Call Duragloss and ask for Jerry or Bill they will help you.

FAR too many people have had awesome results with this product so it about has to be in your particular application.

They don`t tell you to. They merely suggest you use it for added longevity.

Wipe down with a alochol, use the S100 cleaner then apply the 105.

100% agreed. On a personal level, I mix and match products all the time, it`s fun to experiment. On a technical level, using products designed by different chemists outside of the system for which they were created sometimes results in less than desirable results, other wise known as compatibility issues.

    Re: Duragloss #105 what happened

I ordered some AW, DG 106 and DG 105. I also have a black vehicle. I had a couple coats of Mothers polish/wax on there already. Then I tested my hood put on the 106 and then the 105 about 30 minutes after without removing the 106. It looked really good and then I drove over to pick up my friend and then it looked hazy. This morning I whiped it down again and it looks better now. I am wondering if I just put it on too thick and sense I was applying and buffing by hand I didn`t get it all off the first time around.

Took advantage of the nice day and fully waxed the black pearl paint 08 Dodge 1500 Hemi with the Duragloss. I am very happy with the results. This time everything came out great - no haze.

Did you put it on thin enough? Did you let it dry enough ?
