    Why alcohol wipe down?

    what I call a step by step detailing a car(paint only)is:
    1)wash.
    2)clay.
    3)paint cleaner.
4)polish ,in my case I use SSR 2.5 then SSR 1.
    5)Glaze (maybe).
    6)wax /or sealant and wax.
I`ve heard some use an alcohol wipe down after polishing! I would like to know for what purpose ?
Is it necessary?I thought it was used to remove LSP but why after polishing?
Could someone explain this for me?
    Thanks.
    Ken.

The alcohol cleans off any polish on the surface that could hide any remaining paint defects. This way you can examine your progress and determine if you need more polishing.

To remove "fillers" from polishes (if present).
I still don`t believe in grit guards.

That makes sense now,I thought may be it was used to remove any polish residue so the sealant would bond better ,Then I thought what if I don`t use a sealant,oh well ,now I know why.
Thanks Troy for helping a rookie.

Whatever I know about detailing (even though very little),I have learnt it here from you pros, and from what I gather ,I should avoid using any polish that has fillers (if possible),but some manufacturers don`t mention it on the labels.
