    "ICE" after rain

iced (by turtle wax) my zr2 again this saturday. (second coat). well, we got rain for the most part of sunday. went to work this morning. got home. and for no reason looked over the truck, figuring it would be all spotted from the rain and drive. i had to look twice....not one spot on the finish!! NEVER saw a product do this. it was as if i washed it.

Got my wife a new black CTS Sport and detailed this weekend. Have always used Meguiar`s but tried ICE and finished off with new Meguiar`s Ultimate Detailer and it looks great. Wish it rain here in Alabama, not just to see how Ice holds up on the new car but my yard looks like a freakin desert.

i`ve said it on this site once before, ice if for nothing else is so easy to use, leaves absolutly no residue, wipe on wipe off, great shine, don`t know about durability, but anice product if you`re in a hurry.

I would say that`s your opinion. I haven`t used ICE, but that statement is a little subjective. Maybe for that guy, it`s the best product availabale in his situation.

And please don`t start a debate on what you think is the best product out there, `cause we all know what it is already.

Bottom line: products like EXP that contain amino funtional polymers are much more durable than ICE.

That doesn`t necessarily make them "much better products." Durability is only one factor, and frankly, one that a lot of people on detailing boards aren`t too awfully concerned with for their own personal vehicles a lot of the time.

It`s no secret around here which product I use almost exclusively, but recently I bought some Turtle Wax Ice in a 2 pack for $20 at Costco. It worked exactly as ZR2 & Blucpe described and I liked it alot.

    Re: "ICE" after rain

I have been using ICE for my black trim on my CR-V and have been quite happy with the result and durability. I think it is on par with my TR. I did give it a go on the Satin Silver finish and was satisfied with the result. It held up for about 6-8 weeks in Oregon spring rain. The speed and ease of application/removal are quite attractive when you have limited time and/or opportunity to do the job.

    Re: "ICE" after rain

Still has not rained here, but the first wash after I used ICE on my wife`s car (black) and looks as good as when I waxed it. I also followed with the new Ultimater Detailer from Meguiar`s and have never seen anything bead water like this stuff. No swirls or spider webs. Looks great. I will keep using ICE and Ultimate Detailer until I find something better.
