    Usable microfiber lifetime?

How long would you use a particular microfiber towel before demoting it to glass, wheels, engine duty? I have a large supply of quality microfibers and I don`t think I`d be able to use them in grungy areas, even if the towel is at the end of its life... which I am still trying to figure when this is... I`m sure proper care is needed to ensure maxium MF life. I have towels that are 2 years old and are still in great condition and I have no problem using them on the paint. How long will they last? I`ve got to stop buying towels if they keep lasting this long, I`m going to run out of storage space.

I have some that are better than 5 years old and work just fine. I think that how you maintain them and what you use them for will determine their ability to last ...and you can never have enough mf

Fortunately, I haven`t had any microfiber towels meet their demise due to old age. The second I don`t think it`s good enough for my paint is the second they go into the grunge pile. Like Steve said, maintenance and use will determine how long they`ll be around.

I also have several five years old that are just fine. Some are a few months old and I`ve screwed them up royally with brake dust and the like. Once no amount of soaking will clean them they are dedicated to more grunge work from that point on.
