optimum GPS turned to cottage cheese

Has anyone else had it turn to a cottage cheese like substance in the spray bottle. I went to use it and i thought the sprayer was clogged until i opened it and looked inside. It was stored in my garage that is heated in the colder months.

Did it get too hot during the summer? How old is this bottle? OPT went through a period where they reformulated all the polishes and they were getting some bacterial or fungal growth and then they changed the formulation again, but I kind of thought all that was before GPS came out.

That being said, I went and looked at my GPS and shook it up and it looked a little ooky. I don`t use it very much because when you shake it up it comes out of the sprayer and gets all over your hand...so now my dinner is going to smell like GPS...which I guess is ok, as long as it doesn`t taste like GPS.

Most Opti products remind me cottage cheese as in something I don’t reach for…… or……. Something I heard was good but then tried and didn’t get what the fuss was all about.

It is at least two years old, I never had any other products go bad in the garage.

Optimum used to make a product Called Finish that was really great as the final polish step, or a little more aggressive with the right pad and a Rotary for me..
It was great ! It also separated after awhile into 3 different media in the bottle.. Had to shake it up to get it to the normal light blue color again..

Then, Optimum quit making it, never saw it again..

I am pretty sure my last bottle of Finish is several years past 2..
Wish they had at least put on an Expiration Date or something, so they could set our expectations..

I also have some new bottles of their GPS, and I have to wonder if they will ever be normal again.. Clients that liked them on their vehicles are long gone..

Yes, disappointing that OPT stopped making all the lotion polishes, including Poli-Seal. I preferred them over the spray versions.

All the optimum polishes separated after time for me. They are not shelf queens. On the other hand I have a zaino stuff stored in the same location that is probably close to 15 years old.

    Amigo !
Yes - I still use that great Zaino ZAIO All In One (for all coated wood trim pieces in those fancy German cars), that is well over 10 years old and it is fine..
And wow, does it make those trim pieces beautiful again ! Thank you, Sal Zaino !

Too bad about some of these Optimum products - I hope my little stash of their Hyper Polish is not breaking down and dying in my cabinet... Love that stuff too..
