Is Graphene the next big thing for coatings?
I’m interested in graphene so I appreciate all the sharing going on here. Here’s a less popular coating Nanolex SiShield, alone vs topped with SiSplash. Its spray topper can applied on wet or dry panels and brings slickness and gloss. No advertised contact angle or hardness rating but it darkened my paint and the suede applicator cured stiff.
SiShield alone

Very cool saw nanolex max was released was considering. I think the best thing about my recent experience applying graphene coatings was how much easier it was than normal coating

Yeah that does sound good. SiShield had to be removed within a minute and optional second coat needs to be applied right after. So realistically it’s working in small 2’x2’ sections around the car.
Max is a pro product, you’ll need help to get a bottle to play with unless you’re a pro [emoji4]

Unless you are a pro, the most important aspect to a coating for me is the application process. It needs to be user friendly.

yea I think I’m with you on this. I no longer want to mess with finicky or PIA coating.

46 mins in on GTechniq on graphene. Was asked a couple times skimming through.

I am not a fan of these torture test but here are a couple of Adams.
Bug remover killing the Adams graphene spray coating.

This guy compared both Adams spray coating. Kudos to him for the amount of washes he did.

One other thing to mention is that there have been some complaints of the Adams graphene ceramic paint coating causing streaking on the trim. Adams has since changed their mind and has now asked to wipe down plastic trim to avoid streaking and blotchy spots. Their video and included instructions are incorrect. Their site is correct.

Good info Guz. I just checked out DG video guy made a few good video liked the setup. My coating is staying very clean it could be placebo effect or low miles or the fact that my last ceramic coat was topped so many times it lost self clean with toppers

That fade with the bug cleaner like 100 to 0 with that product...

Took me a 3-4 hours to polish the old coating off and then re-coating. Not many defects over the course of 2 years with cquartz. A machine saves a lot of time.
Re: Is Graphene the next big thing for coatings?
Ethos came out with this video stating theirs is graphene oxide as well. But no ceramic as the foundation layer like Adams. They claim their`s is a true "graphene" coating.

So if Adam`s Graphene is a mix of Graphene and their ceramic paint coating....and if one were to do a layer of the graphene coating and the ceramic coating which should be first on the bare paint?
