    Teflon coating nightmare

Did a presentation last night at a ford dealership (big win for me) for a car club
One of the members has a teflon paint protection system on his car, I won`t mention the name of the brand (they make a heap of automotive lubricants etc)
It turns out that no matter what brand QD he uses, the product smears and leaves streaks that only polishing will get out and he has had to get it cut back by the technicians

    Done this twice now
So I decided to use this as a test for prima slick and all other QD`s I have including einszett and werkstatt

The werkstatt did the same thing as all the rest although I am sure it`s the teflon coatings fault
Got prima slick out which is my favourite on my car and it worked wonders
added shine and slickness and no probs

I believe anything marketed with teflon in it is a big con and if it is in there, all it does is make surface slick
Glad that prima did the job and exceeded his expectations

Wish I could get my hands on the stuff to test it

Do you guys have any experience with teflon sealers
Could it be the makeup of teflon that is causing the problem
Car care/detailing sadly isn`t high on the agenda for 98% of australians.

    Re: Teflon coating nightmare

Sorry, it`s not really coated in Teflon. If it has any fluorinated polymer at all, it`s probably more like one of Dupont`s Zonyl additives that is similar chemically to Teflon. The streaking problem could be a incompatibility between the film-forming ingredients in certain qds not being compatible with the sealant film.

Bence has a very good explanation of this type of problem in a post from Detailers Club here--http://www.detailersclub.com/forums/...ead.php?t=2475

Teflon in wax :lol -- please explain how an automotive finish is heated to the required 1650 degrees for the teflon to adhere?

Hey, isn`t impersonating The Fuzz kind of like against the DC law?
A society willing to trade liberty for temporary security deserves neither and will lose both
