    Blackfire Leatehr Conditioner Review

    Blackfire Leather Conditioner Review:

This is my review of Blackfire Leather Conditioner. Meghan was gracious to send me out several of the new Blackfire Pro Detailer products. I have several cars that have leather interiors but my 1990 Nissan 300zx has a ton of leather in the car’s interior. I have replaced the seats with Corbeau Carrera seats which I had done with leather inserts in a black/red combo. I have also added a red leather stitched JSPEC steering wheel, red leather stitched storage box cover, and red leather stitched door inserts and door handles. Since I had not given the leather items a good conditioning recently I figured it was a good chance to try out this product. Since this car is used as a show car only I am very particular with what products are used on it. However, given the reputation of Blackfire and the success of the other Blackfire products I had tired and used for years, I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to try the Blackfire Leather Conditioner. I have not had any experience with the older version of the Blackfire Leather Conditioner so it was difficult for me to compare if this product it had any new formulations compared to the old.

    Product Description:

BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner keeps leather soft with state-of-the-art breathable polymers. Extreme UV protection resists leather yellowing or photo oxidation. The non-slick satin finish created by BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner resists wear and abrasion, arming your car’s leather seats against daily wear and tear. In addition, BLACKFIRE Leather Conditioner leaves a moisture barrier to prevent moisture from breaking down leather or stitching.

To resist perspiration, salt, skin oil, and lotion stains, our chemist selected a co-polymer recently developed by Dow Corning. This co-polymer crosslinks with itself to provide a blanket of protection on top of the leather. It blocks moisture yet still allows air flow through the coating to facilitate heat dissipation. This co-polymer is also non-greasy, dries almost on contact to a matte finish and isn`t slippery.

For UV protection, BLACKFIRE’s chemist went all the way to Switzerland to CIBA, the maker of TINUVIN 5151. Without getting too deep, TINUVIN 5151 contains both competitive UV absorbers and hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) to significantly retard photo-oxidative degradation. UV-Absorbers prevent degradation by blocking, or absorbing, UV energy. HALS stabilizers act as radical scavengers and inhibit photo-oxidative breakdown reactions. Both UV-absorbers and HALS work together to provide the highest level of UV protection available.

    Product cost:
    $28.99 for 32 ounces (on sale-regularly $34.99)

I applied Blackfire Leather Conditioner with a foam block applicator and gently massaged it into the leather. The product spread easily and the scent had a slight hint of leather that was not overpowering. Initially I though the product was a tad glossy when I first applied it but after letting it sit for a few minutes and wiping down any residue with a micro fiber towel, I was left with a nice crisp matte finish. Blackfire Leather Conditioner was not overly greasy and left my car smelling great. I was very pleased with the use and look of the Blackfire Leather Conditioner. I feel it is a very nice product and contender to many of the other leather conditioners on the market.

Looking good, Pat! Thanks for the review.

However, I do need to bust on you for the wrinkled flooring:
