    Review Dodo Juice Ferro Lube

This is a review of Dodo Juice`s Ferro Lube, from their Supernatural line. In case you are not familiar with this product, basically it`s a clay lube and iron remover product (think Iron X) in one. It`s a unique product in the USA to the best of my knowledge.

Why nobody else is making a product like this or more people aren`t using this product makes no sense to me. I think it was like $12.99 for 16oz - which is less than Iron X. It combines the steps of claying & iron removal into basically one step.

So, this stuff smells bad in the bottle, but not as bad as similar products when you spray it. It works great as a clay lube, I used it with a synthetic clay block. It did not damage the block either.

The directions tell you to spray it on a wet car, clay, and let it sit for a few minutes and you should see color change. Then, it tells you to rinse it off.

Well, for whatever reason, I decided I was just going to ONR it off (working indoors). This did not work, unlike other clay lubes - this stuff gets very "soapy" on the paint. All ONR did was make more bubbles and soap. Also, I used it on a dry car - no problem.

    It looks like this:

So, what it seems like to me is a conventional soap type product, diluted and mixed with an Iron X type active ingredient - opposed to an rinseless wash style polymer based clay lube.

The lube works very well. It does go quite far. I was able to use it "heavy" on my SUV & only use about 12 oz of lube. That was being quite generous with how much I used. As a lube, it`s very soapy and slick.

Now, historically, I have very little iron in my paint. I park indoors, and I get very little bleeding from Iron X. So, I wasn`t expecting to see a ton of purple - I never do.

The idea of the product seems good for a decently maintained car that isn`t full of iron on the paint. It seemed to work very well, I don`t know if it would work better or worse than Iron X on a badly contaminated car - but it worked just fine for for me.

    A couple of things:

    1. The "soapy" nature of the product seems to work better overall as a clay lube than ONR types. It`s sicker, goes farther, and you seem to use less of it. You can really scrub the paint without it drying out.

    2. You definitely need to hose this off the paint. It leaves soapy residue for sure.

    3. Stick your nose in the bottle it smells bad, but I worked in a closed garage no problem.

    4. Came with a sprayer that worked fine.

    5. Price is right for a combo product like this.

    6. On contaminated areas, seemed to turn purple quick.

    Good product. Will buy again.

Similar experience with this product...got some in a giveaway here last May. Really liked it as a clay lube (super slick), and the smell does not seem to last long. These days, combo products (all the AIOs) seem to be the norm, and this fits right in.

I thought about trying it when it first came out. Then I decided to wait for some reviews, just because I thought it would smell like Iron-X or wouldn`t work well. Thanks for reviewing. I`ll give it a try, I can always use a product that makes my life easier.

My only gripe with it is the sprayer. It`s too weak IMO. I can also only fit 1.5 fingers on the trigger. Otherwise I had the same results - pretty neat product.

Re: Review Dodo Juice Ferro Lube

My concerns are, will it eat a clay mitt and when it removes the iron am I then wiping that contamination across the paint ??
