    CarPro Ech20 first use thoughts

    product link
CarPro ECH2O Waterless Wash & Quick Detail Spray

warning: not an official endorsement as to how to use this product. i did not read anyone else`s reviews prior to using this product nor did I follow the instructions as directed 100%.

diluted 1:10 and 1:20, it seemed easier to just make rtu gallons at the time

disclaimer: clean car this morning but drove through light mist and misted all day at work. nothing terrible, just some little water spots. would have rinsed clean if I hosed it down but wanted to try this stuff out

•anti shilling disclaimer: purchased in house on ACC and I patiently waited like the rest of us
I`m not even a connect member anymore so I paid full price to boot

    link again below

CarPro ECH2O Waterless Wash & Quick Detail Spray

so far all I have cleaned is the roof, hood, trunk ans glass. its supposed to rain again tomorrow so I don`t really care to clean the barely dirty sides of the car

i just wanted to play with these dilutions

sprayed on moderately (enough to wet the panel but it wasnt beading up and running off wet)

used two seperate 16x16 dmt micros

the 1:10 was a little too strong for the task

after half the hood I realized I had used all four quarters of the deep nap side and had to flip the towel to use the other side to get all residue off

note: i did not initially do the recommended 2nd spray before final wipe on this first attempt on the hood

i then switched to the 1:20
this was much easier to wipe off and didn`t even require the second spritz as recommended (im not sure if that takes away anything, but i tried it and it seemed to make the wipeup more grabby than it was)

both the ratios seemed a bit grabby for my taste even on initial wipe. that may be because im used to slicker things like uber or poorboys sprays but it wasn`t to the point to that I was afraid of marring. it was just worth noting.

once all wiped dry it is very slick and leaves a nice shine

all I can tell from the garage so far is that it definitely added some shine. how much? I can`t really tell.

I will need more time playing with this product to fully form my opinions.

    and here`s some pics
(sorry im back to my s5 camera phone for now)

    drawing some attention

    thanks for viewing

an hour later I couldn`t live with a partially clean vehicle so I did the rest of the car with the 1:10 and two micros

as you can see the damn car is filthy!

one soft swipe of the quartered micro

flipped and another soft swipe in opposite horizontal direction

    faint haze drying

20 seconds later with no extra wipe
    thats two swipes total

did rest of the sides and front/rear bumpers

so far it`s growing on me. need to play more before I can really tell. keep in mind the car is layered with zirkon and high gloss multiple times since October so it was already really shiny.

hopefully I don`t see streaks tomorrow, lol

So 1:10 left too much residue? I was going to start with that ratio as well to test.

it just took too many towel flips

it was 70 on the garage thermometer

    not humid either

i like the 1:20 much more for my use

i might try the 1:10 again, using more and a small pfm towel to wipe up but I still never felt a need for the additional spritz. perhaps if the surface was dirtier

I`ve been using the 1:12 ratio and like it very much. I may go to a 1:15 though. I`m still in the testing phase and haven`t made the decision to switch full time. It is a very good product so far. The real test will come in the summertime when temperatures get into the hot range.

I used 3oz. in one gallon 42:1 and it worked flawless as a waterless with pre soak but not running off wet just beading up wet. Van was dirty grimy and sandy(beach sand) plus bugs from two weeks on the daily driver that is Gloss Coated and swirl and scratch free. The towels were generic but clean $1.00 each 220 gsm EBAY specials. Happy to report that after this risky test it is still perfect and defect free.I used no pressure except the weight of the towel just gliding very softly on this wash.

Wow that`s brave. Lowest dilution CarPro recommends for QD is 1:25.

I agree 100% with you and was not expecting such good results either. I think because of the method being like a hybrid rinseless wash is why it works so well. Without the prespray and no pressure on the towels the results would have been poor. I did each of the panels twice instead of applying more pressure to avoid rubbing and damaging the coating. This was for fun and education not to save time however it still was pretty easy.

Re: CarPro Ech20 first use thoughts

car is filthy again, like driven in the rain on the interstate filthy
    ugh

the life of a black daily driver (for the time being)

it`s supposed to be muggy all day until this afternoon, hopefully a high pressure rinse and another wipedown will suffice if I have time before our club Christmas party today in San Antonio at noon - currently stuck at work in Austin

I did see some streaking on the car this morning when I went to get breakfast .. uh oh! not reload type issues though. I think it was the humidity

Re: CarPro Ech20 first use thoughts

I mixed a L Kwazar sprayer with about 80% 1:10 and the rest the 1:20

I`m gonna give that a shot on a little dirtier surface

You wanna know a trick to extend ECH2O further? Use it as a drying aid and glass cleaner. After doing say a regular 2 bucket wash, rinse vehicle then spray this combo all over vehicle, glass and wheels. Then dry then be amazed even more.
2oz igl premier (guess reload would work but not tested yet)
    2oz Ech2o
    28oz distilled water
