Polish Angel Cosmic Spritz - Review

For this review, I’m going to share my experience using Polish Angel’s Cosmic Spritz as part of my DD’s autumn prep-routine. This is also a companion review to my earlier review on PA’s Esclate Lotion.

From Autopia’s copy for Polish Angel Cosmic Spritz:

Cosmic Spritz has the highest concentration Silica and Titanium Dioxide of all our [Polish Angel] spray products. Silica produces an extremely hard durable surface that protects against corrosion. Titanium dioxide provides extreme shine and color transparency.

Cosmic Spritz boosts the hardness of Cosmic. It also contains unique ingredients to reduce the total curing time of Cosmic from 24 hours to 12 hours when applied 1 hour after the final coat of Cosmic. Cosmic Spritz requires only a minimal amount of product to be effective. Cosmic Spritz leaves no residue on the plastic parts. Can be used as a drying aid.

After prepping the paint with Esclate Lotion, I needed a quick and easy but durable LSP to finish my daily driver’s Autumn prep routine. Enter Cosmic Spritz:

    Directions

    Per label:

    Per PA’s website:

To aid in the curing of Cosmic [Glasscoat]:

    1. Apply two or more coats of Cosmic.
    2. 1-2 hours after the final coat of Cosmic is applied, apply one coat of Cosmic Spritz.
    3. Total curing time for Cosmic will now be 12 hours from the application of the final coat of Cosmic.

    General Application:

    1. Shake well before use.
    2. Spray a very small amount onto the paint surface or into a microfiber towel .
    3. Wipe until product is spread thin and evenly.
    4. Remove any remaining residue with a separate microfiber towel.

Since I didn’t use (nor do I own) Cosmic Glasscoat, I’ll be following the general application instructions. And instead of spraying the paint directly, which IMHO is a bad idea, creates high spots, and is a waste of product, I opt to use a microfiber applicator for easier application. Here’s what a single spray of Cosmic Spritz looks like:

(For reference that`s about the size of a dime.)

As you can see Cosmic Spritz is has a translucent purple appearance and is rather thick.

Application, was dead easy - 1 spritz was enough to cover my entire hood. And what`s nice about using a microfiber applicator is the ability to flip it over to the dry side and quickly knock down any high spots. In fact, the overall application process reminded me a lot like using BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal.

All in all it took ~15 minutes to go around the whole car.

    Can you say gloss?

    Yes, Please!

    Cost*
Make no mistake, Polish Angel Cosmic Spritz is a premium product hand made in Germany. And as such it commands a premium price: a single 200ml (6.8 US fluid oz) bottle of Polish Angel Cosmic Spritz cost $74.99 or $11.03 per oz.

    Additional Observations:

Most detailing chemicals give me headaches. It’s a fact of life I’ve gotten used to and wear a 3M Paint Project Respirator whenever I’m compounding, polishing, or applying a LSP (especially coatings) inside my garage. Thankfully however after using Polish Angel Cosmic Spritz w/o a respirator I did not get a headache. A fact I wanted to share since I know others suffer from post detail headaches like I do.

    *Non-Shill Disclaimer

I was lucky enough to receive this bottle as part of Autopia’s $50 Mystery box that I paid for. I did not receive this bottle as part of a give away nor have I received any sort of compensation.

    Hope you enjoyed this review!

    Cool review !!!!!

I think the "non-shill disclaimer" should be on all reviews.

    Angus -

Thanks for the great review! I`ve wondered about this product as a stand-alone LSP; glad to see a review using it this way.

    2 questions:

    1. How much product did you use for the entire car?
    2. What is the realistic expected durability (used as an LSP)?

    Thanks!

    Nick

It really does. I can`t get over how much the flake immediately popped out.

Right!?! It was one of the few times I was ok with it raining on my freshly detailed ride. Ooooo a fresh batch of Cosmic you say...

Thank you for the kind words!

    To answer your questions:

    1. How much product did you use for the entire car?

Hard to say exactly since the bottle is opaque but it wasn`t very much at all. 1 squirt of product covered a normal size pannel.

    2. What is the realistic expected durability (used as an LSP)?

I`m wondering the same thing! I applied PA Cosmic Spritz back on Oct 30th and so far so good. The real test is how well will Comic Spritz hold up against road salt. I`ll try and give you an update in due course.

Angus: Any additional comments on how Cosmic Spritz has worked as a stand-alone LSP? Just curious if it was able to handle winter road conditions... thanks!

Hey, great question. Given the lack of snow (= road salt) so far this winter I can`t really say yet how well CS performs against true winter road conditions. As a Fall-Spring LSP however it`s been holding up quite well.

if you use invincible primer first, cosmic or whatever you apply will be more effective and last longer

I`m gonna try this soon on a car of my choosing.
