Mini Review - CarPro Essence Plus

This is going to be a quick mini review on carpro essence plus.

I didn`t take that many photos. Just trying the product out to see how it works.

Test subject: The hood and fender of my brothers car which is coated with Ameriarmour

    Tools used:

    Rupes LHR15 Mark II
    Rupes white finishing pad
    Scangrip pen light
    CarPro Ech2o as a waterless wash/QD mixture

I purchased the 8oz bottle straight from CarPro.

The directions are pretty straight forward

My brothers car is coated in Ameriarmour paint coating. I have been underwhelmed by it. It seems to swirl and marr easily compared to gloss coat. It`s on his and I noticed the same thing on my Camaro. Both cars will be recoated soon.

Anyway onto the test. I gave the hood a quick claying with the Griot`s fine grade mitt prior to polishing it with essence plus.

This is an area on the hood. I was losing daylight so I was using the scangrip pen light as my light source.

    Before

Went over this area using speed 3 on the Rupes 15 MKII using the white finishing pad. I went over a 24x24 area with 4 passes. This is a non-abrasive polish so it is not abrading the surface. This is the result.

Essence plus seems to be doing what it is supposed to be doing by minimizing the swirling.

I tried it on another area. This time on the driver side fender.

    Before

After a few passes. Again essence plus seems to have done the job.

I ended up finishing the rest of the hood. Gave it a final wipe with CarPro Ech2o. Both left some nice gloss and complimented each other well.

Essence plus left the surface slick. It wiped off the paint easily. Overall this looks like a solid product to have for a coated vehicle. Saves time until a re-coat is needed.

Give it a try. It`s available here

Thanks for the mini review, Guz! I`m curious to see how the layer of Si02 Essence+ leaves behind holds up.

Curious to see how hydrophobic Essence Plus is once applied... to me, it will only be a major success if people can use it as a gloss enhancer/light defect filler AND produce the same type of water repellency that their coating exhibited initially.

If not, then Reload seems to be a quicker option as it will enhance the look of the finish and produce a very hydrophobic surface... guess we`ll see! I have yet to find anything to use my Essence Plus on. Looking forward to trying it out though.

I think Essence Plus will be successful as a coating reconditioner. Great for fixing imperfections in a coating instead of polishing the coating off. If a customer brings a coated vehicle back to you after 6 months with swirls this is the perfect product to repair the damage.

What I was getting at is that Reload has been shown to be able to fill in minor defects on its own, and you can work your way around an entire car in <30 minutes without breaking out the polisher... so unless Essence Plus can do a better job, provide as good or better water resistance, or a considerably more durable layer, it may be hard to beat a quick wipe down with Reload to accomplish a similar result.

As an example, here is something that was shared in a facebook group a while ago... hopefully the owner will not mind me sharing the photos

Reload on this 16 month old SHOfilled in light toweling marks nicely.

I`ve been looking for these photos forever. I was trying to tell someone on another site that Reload had filling properties and couldn`t find these. Thanks!

It is supposed to rain here on thursday. If it does then I will have my brother get me some photos of what the water behavior is.

After seeing your photos of reload filling, I should have done have the hood with reload and left the other side just essence plus.

If that holds true then Essence + is a winner. I had the same concerns as you about if it will effect hydrophobic properties of the underlying coating.

Adding more photos to my review. This is my uncles vette. It has gloss coat on it. I went ahead and used essence plus to fill in the minor swirling from washing throughout the year.

Essence plus worked out great filling in those minor imperfections. There are RIDS that it won`t fill but that is ok. It sure leaves an insane amount of gloss. Topped it off with the new version of reload. I had no issues using reload in terms of streaking.

    Essence Plus by itself

    Topped off with reload
