    McKee’s 37 Wheel Coating Review

I figured I’d do a quick review on the McKee’s 37 Wheel Coating. I wanted something that would last and make cleaning the wheels quicker. The wheels aren’t overly complicated but do have a lot of small nooks.

I started by cleaning the wheels and tires with whatever left over cleaner I had. I believed I used some sort of Chemical Guys cleaners just to use them up. Was never impressed with their Signature Cleaner nor the Diablo Wheel Gel. Also cleaned the barrels since the wheels were off the car because the winter tires/wheels were on. I got them pretty clean, I think using an Iron Remover would’ve cleaned them a bit better but I was satisfied with the results.

I believe I wiped them down with Eraser after cleaning them but can’t be sure as I coated them back in April. The coating process was pretty straightforward. I used one of those yellow circular foam applicators. In hindsight I wish I had used the foam finger pocket applicators would’ve made it much easier. Was difficult to see where I had applied the coating as I did it outside and it was pretty sunny out and 60s-70s if I recall.

A few beading shots the next day.

Anyways since coating them I haven’t used any dedicated wheel cleaner mostly Uber Rinseless and ONR. The break dust came off very easily with little agitation and beads pretty well. I like to wash the car weekly but lately its been every 2-3 weeks or even once a month tho the car is garaged and has only been driven a few thousand miles since the application.

Overall its been working really well and you can’t beat the price point, it feels like I barely used any of the coating to do the four wheels.

    About 2.5 months later:

Cleaned up well beading it still good.

    3 Month Mark:

Barrels a bit dirty but cleaned up easy.

I’ll try and get some update pics soon since we’re almost at the 6 month mark.

    McKee’s 37 Wheel Coating Review

Thanks, had been meaning to post it for a while...here’s a few pics from the wash today.

All i used was some ONR and various brushes.

Not too dirty it’s been a few weeks:

    Pre-cleaning beading

    A few post cleaning beading

Overall still going pretty good at 6 months, beading seems like it may have tapered off a little but not bad.

And a few overall shots, used 2BM with Reset and dried with the new TRC towel.
