McKee 37 WAx Remover for Plastic Review

Nick was gracious enough to throw a bottle of the new McKee 37 wax remover for plastic this in on my last order. Most of the plastic on my cars is wax free but I have always had an issue with some minor wax build up on the door handles of my 2006 Dodge Ram. I figured this would be a nice test for the product to see if they could bring the handles back to new.

    Product Description

McKee’s 37 Wax Remover for Plastic is a breakthrough in chemistry. This extremely potent synergy of chemicals is formulated to dissolve offending wax residues without harming the plastic trim. Yes, it’s possible for a strong cleaner such as this one to be 100% clear coat safe. Rest assured if accidental overspray lands on your paint or glass, it will wipe right off without causing any damage.

    How To Directions:

Step 1: Shake product well before use.

Step 2: Work on a cool, clean surface in the shade.

Step 3: Spray McKee`s 37 Wax Remover for Plastic onto the affected area. Allow to penetrate for about 30 seconds.

Step 4: Agitate with a nylon brush or a microfiber or cotton terrycloth towel.

Step 5: Wipe the residues off the surface.

Step 6: Seal and protect the surface using McKee`s 37 Trim Detailer.

    Cost: $14.99 for 8 oz.

    Application

I pretty much followed the specified directions and applied to the handles and worked it in with a small toothbrush. I scrubbed the handles clean with a MF towel and treated with Ultima Tire and Trim Sealant.

    Observations

I found McKee 37 Wax Remover for Plastic did an excellent job in removing the built up and accumulated wax on my door handles. As you can see in the one picture there was still some residue left after one treatment. A second treatment and scrubbing cleaned them up nicely and left them ready to be dressed. After applying Ultima Tire and Trim Sealant the handles looked brand new. All and all I found it be an excellent product. I had no issues whatsoever with getting the product on the paint finish. Cleanup just required a quick wipe with a QD..

Re: McKee 37 WAx Remover for Plastic Review

Nice review. Glad to hear it causes no issues with paint. I plan on using this on the door handles of my xterra very soon and was wondering about masking the areas around the handles. Looks like I won`t have to.

Great review! I have a Pathfinder that has some issues with wax buildup and general UV damage to the handles. I will have to keep this product in mind!
