    Review: Ultima acrylic Spray Wax

Hello - I was one of the winners of the Ultima giveaway and was asked to share my thoughts on the product upon receiving it.

Here is the product description as taken from the giveaway page:

I`m going to jump straight into the review rather than show you pictures of the product.

I am like every other Autopian; I have way too many products that kind of do the same thing. I have one or two products out of each category(waxes, sealants, APCs, etc) that I reach for more often than not. For that reason, I decided to pit the new Ultima product against my absolute favorite "spray wax" product: Sonax Brilliant Shine.

To test them side by side I applied each of them to a freshly cleaned surface which was given a Rinseless wash this morning with D114. I wanted to observe any differences in application, looks, and later down the road, durability. I applied both products in the same manner, a light mist over the surface which was rubbed in and then I flipped the towel and buffed lightly with a short nap side.

Here is the trunk lid under shade:

No visible difference to my eyes or in the picture(IMO). The Ultima side was significantly slicker(though not as slick as Blackfire Midnight Sun Spray Wax ). This is not something I care much about because Sonax products are notoriously "grabby" and yet the sheeting/beading properties and protection are outstanding, so it`s more for people who value that.

Here is the same spot again once the sun reached this area:

I then applied it to the rest of my vehicle. I noticed areas I had to buff a little bit more than I`m used to from my spray products - I am going to attribute this to the car desperately needing a clay and polish and because it was humid
out. Here`s a low contrast shot of the roof where I noticed major streaking towards the front - it can be hard to see. Please excuse my horrible trim.

I plan on doing a couple things: applying again to a freshly clayed surface on another vehicle and also applying it when it`s much less humid outside. I have a feeling it will be just fine once I do that.

The product looks very nice and I feel it added a bit of gloss to my paint. It has a similar look to Ultima Paint Guard Plus(Duh!)

Here are a couple more pictures of the car after application:

Thank you for the opportunity to review the product, Ray!

This will make a nice addition to my protection boosting products. I will update this review in a few weeks with any beading shots I get and with comments on durability and effectiveness. Thanks for looking.

    haha

you had me at "..pit..against" and "side by side" - That`s my style

I actually used mine within like two hours of receiving it (and have pics), but want to do something else before I start posting a thread.
