do any of you guys know where i can order this stuff online at? i can`t find it locally. also is this a 2 part kit or is just a single item and you have to degrease the engine first? i think i remember reading that it came with a cleaner and then a dressing.

^^ Something like that. After you have cleaned the engine you spray this on the plastics and hoses. It creates a really shiny "shell" around them that looks awesome at shows. It is way more glossy than poorboys, but is for basically the same thing. It is also a great way to make a quickie engine detail look like you spent hours on it. This engine took me maybe 10 or 15 minutes.

So far AutoZone in my Area has it all the time..Can you use it on the painted surface of the engine bay, Also will it restrict heat from the engine?

I suppose you can, but it is kinda greasy looking. It looks best if you just use it on the plastic and rubber under the hood. I use Four Star Spray Wax under the hood to shine it up and that works best for me.

    Hmmm...the edit button is gone.

Do you mean resist heat or restrict heat? I don`t know anything about it restricting heat, but it does survive quite awhile under the hood. The biggeset problem is that your engine never stays clean for long no matter what you use, so it will get dusty again and I`m sure coating your hoses with anything isn`t good at repelling dust. It is designed to be used under the hood so the heat isn`t really a factor.

I have been cleaning my engine with Simple green and use Stoners Trim Shine to give a nice clean look to it.

    Re: cd-2 engine cleaner/detailer

I started using CD2 a few months ago. It took me awhile to find a local store that had any. After checking 3 other chains, I finally found some at the second Auto Zone store I tried.

I really like it. It does leave a good amount of shine on all the engine pieces. Possibly a little more shine than I would like. However, it doesn`t seem to attract as much dust/dirt as other dressings.
