Poorboy`s Spray + Rinse Wheel Cleaner containing HFl?

I caught wind through the grape vine that a chemist had tested the chemical makeup of Poorboy`s Spray + Rinse Wheel Cleaner and found that it has Hydrofluoric Acid in it.

HFl, for those who don`t know, attacks aluminum and is very strong (health hazard), but works well for those really disgusting wheels.

Can anyone confirm or contest this? Maybe MSDS sheets would help?

Caught wind through the grapevine huh? Would this happen to be the same "reputable source" that told you that there were only 9 car wax manufactures in the United States? Why don`t you lay your supposed source on the table since you seem to have alot to say lately based on contact with your invisible friend?

This topic has already been discussed here at Detail City and if you would have used the search feature you would have found a thread, that you participated in, that Poorboy also participated in where Steve said that Poorboy`s Wheel Cleaner does not contain HF acid.

Maybe MSDS sheets would help you but asking for them in writing is better than trying to get them by posting on message boards. If you would like, I would be happy to teach you how to write a formal request letter.

Talk is cheap. Saying something is far less than proving it. MSDS sheets would clear this all up.

Furthermore, ...I won`t even get into my education. It`s really not worth it. I posted this on the public boards for a couple reasons.

    1) I sent Steve an email regarding MSDS sheets and got no response for over a month.
    2) My threads got deleted out of the PB forum the other night.

If you notice (anyone who is viewing), I posted this in the Detailing Product Discussion forum so it wouldn`t get deleted or locked up right away.

You are right. Talk is cheap. So quit avoiding the issue and lay your source on the table for everyone to see.

it is super strong Stuff. That acid will eat your flesh if you dont use hand gloves. I know this because everytime i use Spray * rinse diluted 3:1 or full my finger begin to peel light skin days after. Typically this happend when im spraying the liquid & it drools on the handle of the bottle It, also happened to my friend when i loan him the S&R so he can wash his rims. :noexpress This never happend with the meg`s hot rims. But it could be what GSRstiles mentioned about the Acid. Gloves are a must with S&R

gloves, mask, and body suit. lol

this product is really for heavy duty use and should be dilluted quite a bit for regular wheel use. and must be followed with regular wash soap to neatralize acids.

meguars wheel brightner contains NO HFI

I don`t think there is a need to bring my source on the table. Its not him that needs defending. It should be Poorboy`s defending his products with proof.

Miami just mentioned how harsh he found S+R to be. Patrick Holland has used it on the ambulances he does and he said the diamond plate started smoking. No doubt, S+R is very very strong.

It seems to me that Steve has stated in more than two places that it doesn`t, yet you still want written proof.....Do you think that Steve would risk as a manufacture a law suit for shipping illegal chemicals and a potential law suit from someone getting harmed by this health hazard....I don`t think so.

Why don`t you lay your source on the table, sounds like someone has gone threw extensive research to see what Steve is using, my guess its a competitor if its anyone at all.....I also don`t understand your motivation

If you actually had a chemist friend that did a test and found HF, you wouldn`t need to be telling me that something is "very strong". You would have a piece of paper that meant something.

Otherwise, you are just starting rumors. Right?

Ok I was going t stay out of this mess but it look like i"m gtting draged in to this.

First off I use S&R on uncoated alum. which is a BIG BIG no no which almost every wheel cleaner says not to do. Alum is a very weak prorus metal and the cleaners atack it very easy..

Second off I have it from a good Source that the Stuff in S&R is also in other cleaners..

GSR, It`s this simple. Put your "invisible friends` supposed proof on the table so folks will know that you aren`t just someone with an agenda trying to start rumors.
