A few weekends ago I had a chance to take the upcoming DGW 2.0 for a test drive and I must say this stuff is awesome. For those of you who loved the original version, this is a great improvement. Hard to imagine one could improve on the original version since it was already hard to beat, but this new stuff does. So like the original, you can use it as a base, a topper, or in between, but I decided to put it as a topper to get a better sense. I did the entire car, but on the hood I did half and half to compare to the original. Please note that the finish on my car is not perfect as I have not polished it in about a year. The car had two layers of Gloss It Finish that I applied two weeks ago. I was in a hurry, so I only took a few pics, which are not the best since it was a very bright and sunny day.

Consistency: Thicker than the original version, so not a liquid. This is more like the consistency of a medium polish.

Scent: The sample I got did not have a scent added yet, but I hear it won`t have the same scent as the original, but it is supposed to be good.

Color: Still purple, but darker than the original.

Application: I applied via DA with a blue LC pad. It was very easy to apply, but not as easy as the original since it is thicker, so some areas required a second pass for full coverage. However, I found that a couple of nickel size drops just kept spreading, so I was able to cover two doors on my ES 350. You can actually cover more area with less in comparison to the original version, even when doing a second pass at times.

Removal: This one surprised me as I expected removal not to be as easy as the original due to the consistency, but it was actually a lot easier. I did the entire car, then the wifey called me for breakfast, so I had to go in. Fifteen minutes later I went to remove it with a microfiber towel and the darn thing came right off.

Finish: This stuff is amazing. In comparison to the original, V2.0 is more slick and adds more wetness, depth and gloss. The clarity of V2.0 is also more noticeable. One huge difference between V2.0 and the original is that the original brightened the paint, while V2.0 darkens and adds more warmth.

Durability: Huge improvement over the original formula. It has been about 4 weeks and until now I`m starting to see it fading even after 3 washes.

Before any drama starts, just know that this new, reformulated, and improved version has nothing to do with CG.

Here are some pics. Notice the glass like reflections on the side mirror.

What is everyone using their DWG for? I have a very full bottle that I bought because of all the good press, but it sits on the shelf. If I do a full polishing, I finish up with a good FP, I find that DWG doesn`t add much. Whenever I feel my paint is less than perfect and I need a quick spruce up, I end up reaching for Poli-seal, it gives a light polish and does some decent filling. If I need to amp up the shine, I reach for a good sealant like BFWD or if I need some real depth, its CG50/50. I guess I need to play more with the stuff.

I never really noticed any filling with the original, but this one does seem to have some filling capabilities. I noticed it covered the fine swirls really nicely.

Yes, this one darkens instead of brightening the paint. I have never tried PB.

It always added extra depth and wetness to my paint when I have used it. This new formula definitely adds a lot more.

Exactly. But it has always worked MUCH better for me when applying by machine.

Examples I`ll be considering: I have two cars with original single stage metallic paint. VERY fragile stuff that I`m not about to abrade if I can remotely help it. Both respond well to products that "darken" paint, both probably need all the fillers they can get without making the metallic look "muted". This sort of product would be perfect for those (I`ve been using stuff like Autoglym SRP and 1Z WPS on them).

Do check out the PBs stuff from what has been said it does seem similar to this new 2.0 stuff.

Any idea when we can expect to get our hands on some? Im running low on the original!

How`s the durability for PB? The Wet Glaze should be coming out in the next couple of weeks, I hope.

I always apply it by machine and it does make a difference. I recommend the red GI pad or the gold LC pad.
