    PwS Review- Input Needed

Since there is a lot of questioning about PwS, I figured I would do a test to help some of you out. But here’s the catch- I don`t know what exactly what people want to see. I have a test vehicle in the garage that is all clayed and ready to be polished and divided up into 4 parts to do a comparison. So I am willing to polish the paint with a polish, with the PC, and apply 4 sealants (or waxes) by hand on top of that to see the differences in PwS and 3 other products for a 4 week test. It’s the middle of winter in New Hampshire but I will try my best to record my findings, take pictures and let everyone know about this test in an unbiased way. Ok now I just need to know what products you want me to use and in what portion of the hood. The hood is of a 1998 Jeep Wrangler that is outside 24 7 in the cold of winter. So one polish and 3 LSPs are requested. I can stick to all Poorboy’s products if you (or Steve) wants, It’s all up to you.

    Polishes I have:
    Menzerna IP
    Menzerna FP
    Meguiars #9
    Mothers Power Polish
    Poorboy’s SSR3
    Poorboy’s SSR2.5
    Poorboy’s SSR2
    Poorboy’s SSR1
    Poorboy’s ProPolish
    High Temp Light Cut
    Optimum Polish
    Optimum Hyper Compound

    LSP’s:
    Meguairs NxT
    Meguairs #26
    P21S Carnauba
    S100 Carnauba
    Natty’s Wax (original)
    Poorboy’s EX-P
    Poorboy’s EX
    Poorboy’s PwC (blue and original)
    Mothers Synwax
    Klasse AIO
    Klasse SG
    4* UPP

I believe that`s what I have on hand... So the Jeep is all ready to go so the quicker the responses the better because I`d like to do it today. Thanks everyone!!!

    Re: PwS Review- Input Needed

Sorry for the long post, I feel like it could help quite a few people out possibly. Ok I think it would be easier if people organize their responses in the following fashion:

    Polish:
    -

    LSP:
    Space 1-
    Space 2-
    Space 3-
    Space 4-

I would like to do this test but I will be needing some assistance, so I will appreciate anyone who helps out. Thanks again.

Edit- Heres the condition of the paint

    Re: PwS Review- Input Needed

Budman I think thats great that you are willing to do this

    Polish:
Either ProPolish or Menzerna FP (sorry can`t decide)

    LSP:
    Space 1- PwS
    Space 2- KAIO
    Space 3- PwC
    Space 4- NXT

I wanted to pick ones that had some type of cleaning ability as well as being a protectorant to keep it on a level playing field.

    Thanks once again

    Re: PwS Review- Input Needed

    Polish:
    - Menzerna FPII or Optimum (neither have fillers)

    LSP:
    Space 1- PwS
    Space 2- Klasse SG
    Space 3- Poorboys EX
Space 4- FK1 #2180 (I would be happy to provide) or UPP

    Re: PwS Review- Input Needed

Ok, I`m going to go down and polish with the Optimum Car Polish and come back and check the replies again.

Right now, as Jaybs said, I will probably do AIO, PwS, PwC Blue, and maybe Nxt? or OCW (forgot to add that to the list) or something else?

just a reminder ..that PwS will be most durable if allowed to cure for 2-3 days without getting wet or washed, if used as a LSP

Oh, I`d like to see how OCW stands up to your weather conditions - so my vote would be for AIO, PwS, PwC Blue & OCW
Don`t it always seem to go, you don`t know what you`ve got til it`s gone?

Ok, the hood is all polished up and is squeaky clean. Here are going to be the `Before` pictures.

    Polishing in the OCP

There are still a lot of water spots and some deep swirls that OCP didn`t take out which could be my fault or they are just too deep for this product to get them out. But this may show the cleaning/defect removal or hiding affect on the 4 products.

It`s raining out now, so no sun light pictures to show everything, but these pictures will give you a good idea on the condition before the 4 products are applied.

    Re: PwS Review- Input Needed

Ok I decided to do the following:
    1- PwC Blue
    2- OCW
    3- PwS
    4- AIO

I did 2 coats actaully. The first I used it like a polish, rubbed it in a lot and then remover right away. For the OCW I sprayed on the surface, rubbed it in, and removed, per the directions. I primed the Viper MF applicator pads with the product I was using. All products were removed with a Mega Plush towel, each had a 1/4 of the big mega plush. The slickness for this step goes in this order from the slickest to the least slick: AIO, PwS, PwC Blue, OCW.

For the second coat, I applied lightly so I covered all of the surface and let sit for 45 minutes, again except for the OCW. They were removed with another Mega Plush in the same fashion.

Pictures will be uploaded within the half hour with further review.

    Re: PwS Review- Input Needed

    Allrighty, Picture time!

    Products Used:

PwC Blue: This spread good and easy, smells great, and left the paint pretty slick. Easy on and very easy off.

    PwC Blue on the applicator:

PwC Blue rubbed in like a polish:

    PwC Blue removed:

OCW: This is a spray wax that you spray on the surface and remove with a MF towel. Very simple to use the only downside is that the MF towel gets saturated easily and has a little streaking, but a dry portion of the towel made it go away. This was the least slick product even after 2 coats.

    Amount Used:

    Rubbed into surface:

    Removed:

PwS: Very good smelling- Orange Scent. The consistency is creamy and not too liquidy- seems right to me. This product seemed to `grab` the paint more so than the other products and I`m sure this will get resolved before the final product. Removing PwS was unbelievably easy. Very very Slick.

    Amount Used:

    Rubbed into surface:

    Removed:

AIO: A little goes a long way. It was easily rubbed into the paint but it was difficult to get an thin even coat of AIO. It left the surface extremely slick as well.

    Amount Used:

    Rubbed into surface:

    Removed:

    Final thoughts:
-All products were easy on and easy off.
    -Quite impressed with PwS
-Slickest to least slickest: AIO and PwS (couldn`t tell a difference), PwC, OCW
-PwS a little `grabby` when applying by hand.
-Can`t wait to test the durability next.

Some pictures not in direct light:

Questions or comments?? Hope this helped someone out and wasn`t too boring. Thanks for looking.

    Re: PwS Review- Input Needed

Thanks for the work. Why did you use AIO? I thought that was used more as a cleaner and then top it with a LSP? Also, Why go to all that trouble and not tackle the swirls/water spots with SSR2.5, Optimum Compound, etc, or does the person not mind that it is done "half way" so to speak? Not criticizing...just asking.

Thanks...just got my PWS but I sure hate to take off my UPPx3,topped IW, topped with Souveran....

    Re: PwS Review- Input Needed

HEre is my prediction on durability

    PwC - one month
PwS - not really sure but I would be impressed with 2 months for a one stepper
    AIO - one month
OCW - one month, maybe less

Im guessing the slickness will increase on the ocw and the PwS and PwC will aslo have a bump in slickness as they cure. AIO will probably stay the same.

    Greg
