    Re: quick question!

I`m not so sure about that.

Zaino has some tricky bonding issues.

The Zaino webpage states that the paint surface should be clean of any polishes, waxes, etc.

They recommend washing the car with Dawn dishwashing soap to strip any prior coatings off.

    Re: quick question!

hmm. im not sure about the dawn tho. maybe they just dont want u using other products. and if not, then my question arrises again, is dawn strong enough to remove ocw and parts of upps that was aplied 2 nights ago? put it on my granfathers car after i polished out the swirls for quick protection until i got the zaino i ordered.

    Re: quick question!

I just edited my first response with this info from Zaino...

    ...READ...THIS... (see item #3.)

Dawn is highly alkaline, therefore stripping almost anything from the paint surface, but not harming the clearcoat.

Zaino does not recommend using it on a regular basis, just for surface prep for a first-time Zaino coat.

    Re: quick question!

The only comment I can offer here is that Dawn sure doesn`t do a very good job of removing products from foam pads. I soaked my hand applicators and PC pads for hours in a Dawn mixture and then kneaded them for several minutes and there was still lots of sealant/wax discoloration in them.
Based on that, I don`t see how just washing with Dawn will remove much in the way of previous product applications.

Having said that, you probably should follow the instructions supplied by Zaino.
They should know the best way to prep for it.

    Re: quick question!

If all you have is AIO and Z2Pro the combination will work. Washing with Dawn in conjunction with AIO will give you a good base to put the Zaino Z2Pro on. Have used that same precedure with good results. Although I now use the whole Zaino system.

    Do you mean this:

    Dawn Wash
    AIO
    Z2Pro

    or this?

    AIO
    Dawn Wash
    Z2Pro...

I would think the second scenario would strip the AIO.

    Re: quick question!

i actually ordered the whole line. its for my granfathers black volvo.

i would think thats since i polished it 2 days ago and just used one application of ocw (one side) and upps (other side) that theres not really a thick coat on there. although ocw and upps seem very durable thus far.

but now that u say alkaline, it makes me think that its actually stronger than what i may have first thought.

    quick post,

how do u guys see this working?

thorough wash with poorboys wash (for its lubricity purposes in removing any dirt that may have settled on the car)
    RINSE
    dawn wash
    dry
    thorough wipe down with water/alcohal?

i just dont want any residues left behind form aio or any cleaner for that matter to effect it...

jeez, im sounding more and more like a zainolot.

    Re: quick question!

    I don`t think you`ll need a water/alcohol rubdown.

    1. After the Dawn wash (and drying), mix your ZFX with Z2Pro and apply your first layer.

    2. Wait an hour, buff off with MF or 100% cotton towel.

    3. Apply Z6 (applies like a QD)

    4. Repeat Z2Pro application

    5. Apply Z6

    6. Done

What is the whole line that you ordered?

If you got the whole line then use the process as it states on the instructions that come with the order.

You can do as you like BUT...if it were me, I would get rid of any other sealant or wax that you have previously applied. AIO will do that? An ISO/water wipedown will only help the process but certainly is not needed after AIO.

But you stated that you got the whole line of Zaino so that means that we are talking about something that really does not matter. Just use the whole line of products.

Please don`t any of the Zaino users take this personal, but I really cracked up when I read joyride bought an $84 dollar kit and still needs more product to do the job right. I thought Zaino was not supposed to be expensive.
Imagine telling the average Joe that uses Meg`s Color-X and NXT Tech Wax that he should spend $84 to get almost enough stuff to wax his car.

And yes, I have used Zaino and didn`t feel it was that expensive. I didn`t buy the $84 kit though. I no longer remember, but I think I spent less than $40 including shipping. It was whatever products suggested by Zaino at that time.

Now I know what you have.

    I would do this
    wash dawn
    clay
    washz7
    aio
z5 times three with zfx with z6 wipedowns between layers
z2pro times three with zfx with z6 wipedowns between layers

Yes Zaino has a paint cleaner to match the system. It is call zpc fusion. have used it. worked well on my wifes car.

Charles, at fourty dollars you did not get the decal now did you??
