New Meguiars Gold Class Wash Mit

I bought one of these new Megs Gold Class wash mits. Very rough on my paint. Let a lot of swirling :realmad: . Just an FYI for anyone considering it. I guess I go back to the turtle wax spun gold mit. I also got he Gold Class Drying Towel. Haven`t tried that yet.

is this the mitt, if soo did u use two buckets? rinse the mitt after every panel? did u use light pressure.

what im trying to say is that u cant just grab the mitt and start scrubbin. u need to take procedure.

but lets just assume u did take procedure and the mitt still inflicted marring to the paint. part of the reason it did that is because it has synthetic fibers instead of a sheepskin or wool mitt. synthetic mitts in all brands and cases ive used have always had a tendancy to hold dirt and trap it in the fibers, even when a proper rinse was done. this i dont know why. but along with u`re post i agree this sint the best mitt u can buy. meguiars needs to get some soft plush wool mitt, as they tend not to hold in soo much crud.

edit: reminds me of adams plush wash pad. it hold in soo much dirt that not even the grit guard they sell to company the mitt takes it out, therefor u end up scrubbin it into the paint

yep. Two buckets with PBs Super Suds. I have always strayed away from these synthetic fiber mitts because I thought they would do some marring. I just thought Megs would have done something different. Oh well, no huge deal. It is just not for me.

save it and use it as a dedicated wheel mitt, for when u`ve sealed the wheels and just wanna use water and soap.

I haven`t been impressed with many of the new Megs accessories. Very poor quality IMO.

I haven`t had marring issues with this mitt, though I do use the 2 bucket method with grit guards. It can be prone to trapping particles in the fibers, but using the grit gaurd usually takes care of that problem. As far as it being poor quality, I can`t comment there as many products have some fault. As Joyride pointed out earlier, it`s process more than it is product.

I`ve used the mitt shown, and I think it`s pretty good. No scratches, and
cleans very well. But it does not last long, because the increasing amount of
dirt trapped inside the mitt gets harder to remove (even when rubbed
vigorously over a grit guard. I usually get about 4-5 good washes before
I use the mitt for wheels and tires.

I think one of the big issues is that the mitts get handled in-transit, as
well as in the stores. Often, i will physically inspect the pads, and find
tiny specs of dirt, or even grease on them. Best to treat mitts like
fruit: the best ones you buy, and the rest you leave.

I have to disagree. I`ve tried some of the new brushes and they`re pretty good. I really like the paintbrush with the adjustable guard.

The Megs MF applicators split at the seam. The Dual Fiber Glass Towel lints badly and separates at the border when washed. The MF towels are average quality compared to what you get on line. The cotton mitt lints badly. Just some of the problems I have had.

They fixed the applicators and the linting problem on the duo fiber glass towels. I haven`t tried the cotton mitt, so can`t comment there. I really like the Supreme Shine towels though, may not be the best of the best, but still way above average.
