    Strong Soap

Hey Everyone, quick question. I`m looking for a strong soap. I use SS&S on my car that stays very clean, but I need something with a little more bite for use on cars that are really dirty. Also looking for something with some degreasing capabilities to use as a good start for a full detail.

If you want a strong car wash soap Megs Gold Class can get out some pretty grimy stuff. For degreasing you`ll want to use an APC (or bug squash) pre-soak before washing to get the really nasty stuff loose. If you want to strip wax you should clay and polish (things that you`d do anyway).

I know that I will get killed for saying this :bb: but dish soap for cutting as a one time process will do what you are looking to do. I`ve used it for certain applications, but not on any regular uses

Yup, what he said....Also Bug Squash is a great pre-wash for stripping if used 1:1 or Full strength

    Re: Strong Soap

Sounds good. I think I`ll stick with SS&S for regular maintenance and my GC for initial washes. Thanks to all of you

BTW- Bug squash is some great stuff

    Re: Strong Soap

just add an ounce of dish soap to the mix. another idea would be to add an ounce of simple green. all in thinking u would be stripping the paint.

The idea of adding an apc to the car soap is very new to me. Is it safe???

Make sure the APC is safe for painted surfaces.

Personally, I have mixed 4 oz of Costco`s APC with 2 oz of car wash and 2 gals of water with pretty nice results. I have had better results, however, just using NXT Wash with a pre-soak of a bug-squash sort of product.

    Re: Strong Soap

well simple green is safe on painted surfaces. on top of that u would be dilluting it 1:258 or something like that. i wasnt very good at math. lol...

it really gives the wash soap s super dose of strenght and allows u to break down dirt without having to grinf hard or do too much extra work.

4 weeks ago i had gotten some bad tar all over my car. some huge suc splaterred it every where including the roof. so instead of hitting every single spot with tar remover i just added sg to my regular mix and followed my paint with ocw after i dried it off.

but just to make u feel safe id get a hold of a friedlier apc like megs apc or kirkland (costco) apc as gsrstilez suggested.
