    Bless SSR2.5 Pics..

    Ok..My hardest project car yet.
This thing had been sitting in a body shop for who knows how long..The car was brought to me by a friend for a friend

-this BMW is for sale so if you understand...this job had to be done right and good because buddies freind buys and sells cars and therefore this can mean a steady line of detailing business...He wanytd detailed AND shampooed. the works.

Now..The pics will show themsleves as to what state this car was..especially the hood..
I mean it was so bad I felt like calling buddy and saying..forget it.
    I used 3M R.C.
    SSR 3
    back to another leveling compound
    Back to 3M.
Went back a step and clayed barred.
    Back to 3M.
    I mean it was terrible.
I just couldn`t get the dull paint fumed hood clean. It was so flat and dull i thought that it would never revive.
    Marring was everywhere.
VERY hard to remove the compounds.
Used PC all the way through with yellow pad.

Finally I said to myself..complete the hood with 3M.
Once that was done..went straight to SSR2.5 with yellow again.
    Man this did it.

Went on with the same idea for the rest of the car which was not so bad...
    Here are a few pics..
So to end the text and get to the pics..
Here is what I used after SRR2.5
    Poor Boys Pro Polish
    EX-P
First time tried out Megs. NXT wax.
    Results follow..

    before:

    after:

    b4:

    after:

    Moral of the story...
These products work...perseverence is a good thing..
When in doubt..keep at it..the gloss is not too far beyond the dull..

    HTH some people...
    The gas pedal always listens..
    The brake pedal doesn`t...
    Drive`em safe.

That`s an amazing transformation, WOW! Have you considered getting a rotary? I got mine at the beginning of the month and I have been absolutely amazed at the difference. When using 2.5 and more aggressive products you save a ton of time, the heat helps crank up product effectiveness a ton. If you do cars like this more than a few times per year I would definetly recommend a rotary.
    Rides
`95 Ford Taurus- White, freshly detailed, holds lots, smokes coolant like a chimney.
`89 Honda CRX Si- Primer black, fast.

    Its funny you mention that..
I actually have one..not a good one but I tried it on a small corner..
I knew this job needed a rotary..so anyway..
I pulled out the piece of junk rotary I have..I attached a soft white pad on it and put on some 3M..
I have never used one before so I slowly applied pressure on the trigger and touched the car...ouch..I didn`t like that grind wheel spinning kind of feeling at all..
I did a little and then smelled some kind of burning odour..let`s just say that, that thing went right back in the cabinet.

I know that a real good machine like the dewalt model is much better and of course with practice and the right foma pads..I`ll get the hang of it....
but that cheap Werner model I believe it is..how terrible...
PC pulled through but it was not easy...

BTW thanks for the compliments guys..

what speed did you work the ssr 2.5 at? I cant get results out of my car like that! I have swirls I cant get out with ssr 2.5 and a pc with a 4" yellow pad. Did the swirls come out of this one. Its kind of hard to tell.

Red is almost as pretty as black with a good coat of polish/wax.

thnaks for the great comments guys..
Yes owner and friend were happy...
Hope I didn;t over charge..included in the job was shampoo interior..full dash and interior detail...I charged $220..00 Canadina..
I think it was a fair price..
I was charging 175/00 until he asked for full shampoo interior..
I think it was a fair deal.

I used yellow Lake County (or is it Country).
Orange Pad with 2.5 for a while..but didn`t like it..
Back to Yellow with the SS2.5 (speeds of 6 and down to 3 near end )
    White pad with Pro Polish
Another white foam pad with EX-P
And applied NXT liquid wax by hand..I let it dry really well too...

as far as swirl marks...well yes...they were gone.
There were some deep scratches that obviosuly didn`t go away..I mean there`s so much we can do....

.I used the various speeds..started off with around 4 and worked it hard on 6...then backed off to 3 and 2 for pro polish and ex-p.

3M Rubbing Compound was used at max speed...
    The gas pedal always listens..
    The brake pedal doesn`t...
    Drive`em safe.
